In this episode we prepare all the documents as well as exploring the city of San Cristobal de Casa, the biggest city before the border crossing a La Mesilla.
La Mesilla is one of the few safest border crossing between these two countries. It's also the shortest route to Lake Atitlan.
We recommend to do all your copies and get your paper sorted wether your are travelling with a dog or not, in this city.
Hugo, the Vet from Vida Veterinaria is the guy to talk with for getting the health certificate.
While we do our normal chores, shopping, laundry, paperwork, water filling, we get to explore the beautiful San Cristobal.
We fall in love with this colourful and vibrant city, full of good cafes, restaurant of any kind, pubs and hotel. The city centre offers everything you are looking for. Another thing we really like is to see the local people wearing their typical dresses. Definitely recommend to spend few days here.

ITALIANO

Howdy...thank you for the information in the video. I have question: Do the border personnel check that the drivers license match with registration and other paper work on the vehicle? Safe travels 😌🙏

We are not sure if there is such a service. Pretty sure they will stop at the border and you have to switch with another taxi

Is it necessary to get your tip refund if you know you're driving back through Mexico and get your tip refund on the US border?

Yeah you have to do it twice. Especially because in Mexico rules changes from one officer to another
