Mexican Hat, Utah
While camping in nearby Goosenecks State Park we wanted to drive around the local Mexican Hat town and see how their camping areas look. They offer up more beautiful and secluded dispersed camping by the San Juan River and they also have a public boat launch many people use for daily or weekend rafting and kayaking trips. The camping setting here is a little different from Goosenecks since you're more down in the rocks and canyon but the views are breathtaking!

Mexican Hat is an awesome place! One of my favs!!
Nice video. We were at Mexican Hat last year and I did not realize there was a boat launch there. I will have to check that out if I get there again.
About 1968 I rafted from Mexican Hat to the head waters of Lake Powell. Going through the goosenecks was amazing. Bring lots of water. Drinking the river water cleans your system out.

Thank you, thank you, thank you for not heating your hot water!!! 😀
Love the slow drive through the park!
I stay at the campground there when I drive to Colorado Springs from San Diego. It's a good place to relax that's super dark and quiet at night. Also have stayed at the San Juan Inn too. Absolutely love that area.

San Diego to the springs seems like a weird venture

@@zakksrage To visit a friend up there. The 160 through Colorado to the 25 is absolutely beautiful.
I like Abby's look crazy idea!
the last time we were there we were in the site just before the one with the rock design, It is a special place and you can find or lose yourself there
Oh gosh Easter egg hunting? It’s almost July 4th. Big back log of big haul videos to come
Yes, $2 bills are real, they are even still printed. Last run was in 2022, and they printed almost $500B worth. I collect them (as well as $0.50 pieces and $1 coins). I can't tell you how many times I've seen somebody attempting to pay with a $2 bill and the cashier telling them it was fake money...I usually give them a couple singles and buy the bill from them, and move on. Much easier. As for the camper shoehorning in? Maybe they were traveling together or knew each other and wanted to be by each other. Happens a LOT...My in-laws used to meat up with people all the time when they camped, and yea, last one in usually ends up getting shoehorned in. LOL....
We never got our Mariarchi music ;-)
Left over from the uranium mill? Sulfuric acid plant?
Are the dirt roads too rough for cars?
I thought the actual rock was an upside down sombrero balanced on the top
