    Actually, the number of inhabitants of the Greater Guadalajara is close to 6'500,000 according to the estimated growth based on these factors: 1- The inner growing rate which is about 3% per year in average. 2- The massive migration of Mexicans from other regions, especially Mexico City, Veracruz, and many places from the south-east. 3- The reversed migration of Mexican citizens living mainly in the US which in Jalisco's regard is one of the heaviest nationwide. 4- The increasing migration of retired Americans and Canadians who have found the perfect place in Chapala, Jocotepec and surroundings. The National Population Census will take place this very year about June. Predictions indicate that both, Mexico City and Monterrey will show a slight decrease in population whereas Guadalajara, Querétaro, and Puebla will show an impressive boost.

    @@Alex-vc1kk The information of the old INEGI was rigged, like almost everything the prior corrupt goverments in Mexico did. INEGI paid lip service to certain economic groups located mainly in the north-east. The truth is the Greater Guadalajara has always been by far the 2nd largest metropolis. Even the central municipality (county) gained around 150,000 inhabitants over the last 10 years. We'll see the results of the census by September or so. One thing is for sure: Both, Guadalajara and Zapopan counties amass over 3'000,000 inhabitants. Let alone the other 10 metropolitan municipalities. As you see..."We have other data" 👍🏾

    2:54 Transit traffic don't take our flashy new (totally not expensive) toll road? We'll force them by banning them from the through expressway! What could possibly go wrong?? In Guadalajara, I don't like how even in bigger junctions, you have to go to the frontage roads which, while removes almost all points of conflict with the main lanes and the other roads, the configuration instead tunnels them all into the frontage roads. The lack of signage and them being hard to read makes it easy to miss critical exits. Mexico definitely need to go back to the drawing board on how to design freeways!

  • @RoadsofEuropeverreme

    @RoadsofEuropeverreme

    Using frontage roads at junctions is cheaper as it doesn't require expensive flyovers. As for banning through traffic, many cities do it no matter how expensive tolls are on bypasses. And not only in cities! For example, in my country through truck traffic is banned on a 200-kilometer long stretch of road; they are forced to take a (very expensive!) motorway instead.

  • @dontgetlost4078

    @@RoadsofEuropeverreme Sounds like just a way for the State to make money, considering most toll roads are Public-Private-Partnership projects (PPP). In North America, banning trucks from freeways in order to force them into expensive toll roads is unheard of. It's actually the opposite: my dad went into Trucking last spring (and made some recordings for me to turn into videos) and his company forbid him to use the Highway 407 in Toronto because of how stupidly expensive it is. It barely does the job of a bypass so it's still a traffic nightmare on the 401.
