8/10/22: The Mets defeated the Cincinnati Reds 10-2 to complete the sweep and win their sixth game in a row. Taijuan Walker picked up the victory, his tenth of the season. Pete Alonso had three hits and Daniel Vogelbach drove in three runs.

The Mets are playing just like the 2015 Royals right now. They show so much discipline at the plate. The 2015 Royals would get a base hit, sacrifice the runner to second, and get a base hit to get a run. This defense has been insane. With deGrom and Scherzer in the postseason healthy together, watch out because death will happen 💀. #LFGM 🍎🟦🟧🗽

If they end up like the 2015 Royals, then I will take it. Still been a fun season and more to come. Phillies, Braves, Phillies, Yankees up coming. We will see who they are now. I believe in 2022, LGM!

Spot on analysis. This is how the Royals beat us in 2015.....keep the line moving !!! Tire out the pitchers , fouling off good pitches, etc.

Lindor is so good. McNeil is so good. Alonso is so good. Nimo is so good. I just love the Mets.
Remember at the start of the season we were looking forward to seeing how our awesome 5 man rotation would go? Well, it's 10th of August, we're 73-39, and Walker's win today is the first time the guys have been able to record 5 straight back to back wins for the rotation. The point is, how well we've been going without the complete rotation in full swing and hopefully what we can look forward to going forward 😀

The Mets are in a position to put the division away over the next 9 games. They play Atlanta and Philly. Win 7 or more games and the division is pretty much a wrap.

It's 11 games but point taken. Mets clean up division opponents and it's all over.
Dude I love our 3rd base coach I find every motion he makes comical (not in a disrespectful way) it just makes me laugh

Best game so far for the Mets hitting with runners on and the new additions are in the middle of everything. T Walker had a nice bounceback game and the off day gives everyone a chance to rest and ready for the division challenge coming up

Why did it have to be AFTER I move out queens, that we're on a red hot streak? Ah, who am I kidding? This is already one of the greatest Mets teams I've ever watched. LGM!!!
The Mets are red hot and are playing very smart, error-free baseball, but I've seen better defense in the Little League World Series than I saw from the Reds today. You can really see how much the Mets have improved this year when they play a really bad team like the Reds. Hopefully, Pete Rose, Johnny Bench, Tony Perez, Joe Morgan and Sparky Anderson didn't watch the game today.

This is the best baseball the Mets have played that I can recall. 1986, 1988, 2006, 2007 ( a debacle of gigantic preportions) and now 2022. Juxt keep your Mets Fingers crossed and keep it positive. LGM !!!

For guys my age I can stack this team up against 69, 86, 88 and 2006 teams. This should become the 4th Mets team to exceed 100 wins in a season.
Votto leans in to get hit by a pitch that looks like would be called a strike, and also apparently has never learned to fully extend his arm to catch a baseball. What a day for him. LGM

What makes the team great, though, is the complementary parts around those stars. The team is deep and versatile in the line up and is deep in the rotation. My only concern is the bridge to Diaz. But I think there are a lot of quality arms to choose from for that duty. Would love to have a dependable lefty in the pen.

Buck made a good point. Votto was hitting the ball pretty well. Might have helped the Mets out there.
McCann stole a base? Would have liked to have seen that.
I want to This game
Walker at this time is the weak link in the rotation. Too many times has allowed the Reds to hit the ball. Fortunately at the plate there weren't the Phillies or the Braves

I wouldn't mind Walker getting some rest and maybe letting Peterson take one of his turns in the rotation. It's tough, though, with so many games crammed into August. I agree that Walker hasn't looked 100% for a few games now -- and that goes back before the unfortunate blowout with Atlanta.
