Metrorail (Metro) in Miami, Florida, USA 2021 (4K-60p)

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

Metrorail is the heavy rail rapid transit system of Miami and Miami-Dade County in the U.S. state of Florida. Metrorail is operated by Miami-Dade Transit (MDT), a departmental agency of Miami-Dade County. Opened in 1984, it is Florida's only rapid transit metro system, and is currently composed of two lines of 23 stations on 24.4 miles (39.3 km) of standard gauge track. Metrorail serves the urban core of Miami, connecting the urban centers of Miami International Airport, the Civic Center, Downtown Miami, and Brickell with the northern developed neighborhoods of Hialeah and Medley to the northwest, and to suburban The Roads, Coconut Grove, Coral Gables, and South Miami, ending at urban Dadeland in Kendall. Metrorail connects to the Metromover in Downtown, which provides metro service to the entirety of Downtown and Brickell. Additionally, it connects to South Florida's commuter rail system at Tri-Rail station, as well as Metrobus routes at all stations. Together with Metromover, the system saw steady ridership growth per annum, with an average of 105,500 daily passengers in 2013.
In 2012, Metrorail opened its 23rd station, Miami International Airport station, at Miami International Airport (MIA), opening a newly created 16-station Orange Line between the MIA and Dadeland South stations. The new line is expected to increase ridership significantly, adding millions of riders per year[5] and allowing residents and visitors alike direct access from the MIA to Downtown Miami, as well as greater connectivity between various modes of transit throughout Miami-Dade County. Central station provides direct service to Amtrak inter-city rail services, Tri-Rail commuter rail, Greyhound Lines intercity bus and the Rental Car Center. Miami Central Station is expected to attract 150,000 daily commuters and travelers ~Wikipedia

Well maybe because you were taking it on a weekend because there is this phenomenon where every weekend orange line trains run as a shuttle to only one station. The frequency between the Metrorail on a weekday is a different story though. The service is actually quite frequent. Trains will come every 6 minutes and perhaps every 3 minutes during rush hour. Why? because the orange and green line trains run together on weekdays and you don't have to transfer to continue if your destination is the airport.

@@mbclev That order was combined with Baltimore & Miami back in 1981. Baltimore got them first, and Miami received theirs in 1984. The Miami cars did not have a front destination sign, nor equipped with heating for those brutal winters up in the Northeastern USA. Budd (aka Transit America) closed-up shop after 1987, thanks to Kawasaki of Japan which was glomming up most new subway car orders, and making it very difficult for Budd to compete.

This is such an underutilized system. Miami really needs to take it head out of its ass, and build more Metrorail instead of BRT. Yes it's expensive, but worth it in the long run. People can argue about ridership, but if you have poor zoning and no TODs to support the system, then duh ridership will suck lol. Idk just my opinion. Miami will stick to BRT along with most US cities. America will learn...

We Miami voters in 2002 Voted for an increase of our Local Sales Tax by 1/2 a percent to solely fund the expansion of Metrorail and other Mass transit projects. We were promised Metrorail to South Beach, Homestead and into Kendall but 20 years later none of these "promises" have been fulfilled by the County Government & now we are going to have some lame ass BRT instead.

Why do you need train? Just take a car and get there where you want. You people are so lazy to go from one place to another. Especially on foot. This is why the rest of the world is making fun of Americans because you're all obese from eating fast foods and too lazy to walk.
