Metrolink And Amtrak Action At North Main St In 2015

No new videos for this mouth but did discovered an old video that has not been uploaded. Here are Metrolink and Amtrak coming in and out of Union Station for the afternoon rush hour at the North Main Street bridge with the Los Angeles River at the bottom. As always, sorry for the shakiness. Enjoy.

They’ve been running them a lot for revenue service for some reason these last couple weeks. 852, 856, 868, and 873. I’ve been able to commute with 3 out of the 4 recently.

@@d64tv06 The F40PHRs were originally SDP40Fs, built in 74/75. MK/MPI builds of F40s continued until 2006
Nice video ;) On 4:48 doubled Metrolink trains and on 8:14 another doubled Metrolink trains :O
Where are the Bombardier coaches of Metrolink we like them back I’m sad they are in Caltrain😢

the f40’s are siting at the yard in the LA River close to Union Station as well with F59/phi with an abandoned cabcar that has some missing windows
It looks like most of the southbound trains are deadheading into LAUS, right?

I 've said it once , I 've said it twice Amtrak and Metro link should have the F40PH , F59PH and F59PHI ' s and the MP 36 PHM ' s ( they were once SD 50 's rebuilt by MPI ) rebuilt for they are more reliable and will out last what Amtrak and Metro Link Uses today ! Long live Metro Link F40PH #800 !

Yes some of them were used to build MP36 's the SD 50 TOTAL BODY WAS REMOVED ! THEN THE REMAINING FRAME WAS STRIPPED DOWN TO NOTHING ! THE THREE AXLE TRUCKS WERE EXCHANGED WITH FOUR AXLE TRUCKS ! THE PRIME MOVER WAS REPLACED WITH AN EMD 645 -F3 PRIME MOVER ! EVERYTHING ELSE WAS , INCLUDING THE BODY WAS BUILT BY MPI ( MORRISON KNUDSON ) NOW KNOWN AS WEBTEC !

@@AVeryRandomPerson The early one's were built this way ! And the newer versions were totally EMD KIT'S ! LET'S GIVE THANKS TO THE SD50 's that gave there soul's !
I remember seeing a triple set (really rare I think) on my way to a pizza place after a baseball game
