Metroid rocked! There's really nothing else to say than that because Metroid was that good. It was a constant challenge, made you think strategy and of course definitely made you work for it. Like all of the early NES games, it was about strategy rather, slaughter, kill kill and demolish everything and that's why I love games like Metroid and Castlevania and Kid Icarus.

Oh man, you love Metroid too! You're even more awesome now! :P I love the Metroid series, it's my favourite of all time. But I couldn't agree more with you, the game is a tad bit dated...but Zero Mission is an amazing remake. Great video :)

Heartbreaking but you are correct sir, Metroid has not aged well at all. That does not change that it's a classic, but yes, someone wants to play it for histories sake fine, but otherwise there are so many better options.

Yea I hope so, I'm very sad there hasn't been a new Metroid game for a while :( Curious, what is your favourite in the series. I still have a hard time choosing between Prime and Super [I kinda lean more towards Prime :P]

I played metroid ii return of samus before the original. Surprisely the original starts off hard because of the low health the game debs start you off with. The cool thing is that it teaches you subtly to hunt for health without text!
