Saw someone who said this is because DX. With Redux this happened to me and the only way to solve was upgrade the graphics to run with DX11.

Man.. I set the r api to 0 but then my game doesnot opens.. What can I do?

Now, finaly, AFTER trying out both Redux versions which have bug on intel hd which makes the game unplayable, and 2033 which won't even start, this works. I get this spiky characters, i find this video, and poof, i still have other problem. Do you have any idea if something resolution related changes after switching to dx9, like refresh rate... does it switch from 60 to 140mhz or something like that, cuz my monitor is ancient and supports up to 800x600 60Mhz and it won't run res properly after switching to dx9. I put resolution on 800x600 in ini file and put it on read only, and double checked, by switching back to r_api 1 it works, the resolution, so it's that setting that breaks it. Any suggestions?

Put the res to 1280x720 will work

When i do this i can´t start the game, it shows black screen and "game has stopped working", with dx10 it starts well but with character graphic glitch, so i will never play this game :(

when i did this then my game started crashing on start. and whenever i changed back the setting that you told the glitch started again. plz help

The models dont even show up, i can only see the beanies, backpacks, ect. Everything else is transparent.

i dont have a C:\users\myname\Appdata\local\4a games\metro LL folder, i managed to find the 4a games folder but theres only a folder for metro 2033. ive looked everywhere i can think of, help? i installed it using steam btw, idk if that matters

i wish i could help you there but i cant. if its not in the appdata and its not in documents then its probably not there at all. try going in the game and changing a graphics setting or something and look again. sometimes they don't pop up until a change has been made.

Brother plz help as under my 4A Games folder there it is a file name metro redux and under this the folder has random number starting with 2.And also your tweak didn't work.

Revaz Chubinidze It's a bug in a redux version. Theres no fix to it, its graphics card related, intel hd etc. Only way is to go to non-redux versions of games.

You know what's weird? I have an Nvidia GTX 650 2gb, with this same exact problem. Really wierd, the game reccomends a GTX 480. This video helped me, I haven't seen anyone post this, but it's well needed. Thank you so much man!

it's work for me...but after i change r_api 1 to r_api 0 when i run the game the video screen was corrupted(not happens when gameplay,only on video)...so the font and the picture was interrupted...can you help me with this? sorry for bad english

yes , now i fixed it by updating my intel hd graphics driver so nvm.

The redux version is newer and better optimized than the original, so to answer your question, redux is better.

+TomahawkeTimothy (Tomahawke) 2033 Redux has Better lighting/textures/models (better graphics), , mask wiping feauture that was only in last light, I don't think you have the timed things for how long you can use the mask anymore, more opened areas that were previously ends in the original, and the spartan difficulty, which gives you decent ammo and items to make it feel more like a run and gun like last light did. DEFINATELY a better choice. I don't think I've ever seen this much effort go into a re release before.

yes every time i get on metro light same order same numbers i think its a code for the graphics of the game that for some reason shows up maybe my lap tops not compatable
