Mr Tibbs agreed! They have been around FOREVER. I thought I found out about them “late” which was in 2009, they were already on 10 years and 3 albums together. Now It’s been 10 more years and how they still aren’t bigger is beyond me. But as long as they keep making killer music I’m happy with it, and they seem happy with it

Indeed. Metric are so talented and made so many great songs. And they are fantastic live. They deserved more recognition.

Art of Doubt is a fantastic album...pivotal..groundbreaking! I love it!!🤗🎶🎁❤

Great interview; could've listened to this for hours ... literally. This is too short. I want hours, because I could listen to it! Literally. HOURS! edit: and oh yeah, love the album!

Ssgt Griggs I totally agree. 14:46 went by so quick. I felt like it should've been a longer interview. I could listen to Emily all day. She is such an interesting person. And the new album is so great!

right, best underground band kinda, EVER, Angus and Julia Stone r good as well, either way, just cant get enough

After listening to this it I feel I really understand where this reinvigorated, rock, guitar driven sound has come from in this new album. It is unequivocally a Metric rock album. All those traditional rock instruments shine through and the lyrics and Emily's voice is as transcendent as ever. Love it, best work by Metric since Fantasies, taking nothing away from Synthetica and Pagans of Vegas, both great albums in their own right

I’ll be there in Seattle! “Clever, kind, brilliant”, perfectly describes them.

They were wrong about touring with the SP and people not really caring about their music. I only bought a ticket to the show to see Metric. I stayed for the SP but I would never buy a ticket to see them. Metric was the best part of show, easily. Hearing the songs before I knew them was a cool experience.

I love her vibe she really draws me in! Her voice is so beautiful even when she’s not singing lol

What happened in Chicago at the United Center in July 2018, when you opened for my other top 3 bands bc Emily did not move from that microphone stand. It was super uncomfortable for me.bc I totally bragged and talked you up to my 3 guests who came for the Pumpkins also...but like it was initially a dream to me bc Ive loved the Pumpkins since 1995, and Metric is literally in my top 3 fav bands w The Pumpkins and Garbage! Seen you guys numerous other times and have never been disappointed, especially Doomscroller tour 10/18...thank you 4 the music Emily saved ny life quite literally! Lyrics...

I will watch Metric perform their music on stage, eventually.

Can I count the Instagram live feed as my first metric show?

I know I personally bought tickets to the Smashing Pumpkins to see Metric, not Smashing. Granted I love and respect Smashing Pumpkins and their music, Metric resonates with me more, and I was there for THEM!

Same here for the Oakland show. 3/4 through the Pumpkins show I was annoyed they were not playing anything from meloncolly and left

I couldn't go to the shows, but I've been a Pumpkins fan since MCIS, I actually like their whole catalog and Billy's solo stuff (though the post-Machina stuff definitely just ain't the same), BUT I've come to like Metric about as much and am honestly more bummed about not seeing Metric than the Pumpkins (saw them ages ago so it's kind of checked off my list).

Did same thing in Philadelphia. Pumpkins were great but was there for Metric. Fortunately got to see Metric headline at smaller venue on Valentines Day. So much better and personal experience. Will see them anytime anywhere.

Not just her singing voice, but does anyone else find her normal talking voice also super attractive?

@@alphonseelric2514 they're the opening act for smashing pumpkins in this context. So people are coming into the venue and getting food, buying merch, not necessarily paying close attention because theyre here to see the pumpkins. Metric is playing music while people are eating. Soundtracking their nachos.

I juts love Emily! Talented, beautiful, and my god her voice is just perfect.

I'd love to more see of them... can't wait to see them live next month!

Been a fan for years, can't wait to see them for the first time in July!

there's so many good lessons to be learned from everything they're saying they all have so much good perspective; It's refreshing.

Yay Metric! I love them and finally got to see them live.

They rocked in Omaha on the Pumpkins tour, it was fun being the biggest Metric fan in the building. I was there for Metric, the Pumpkins putting on an awesome show as well was just a bonus. Now I just need to make it out when Metric is headlining!

Felt the same way when I saw them open for Imagine Dragons in 2015. And of course Metric completely brought down the Allstate Arena! Epic show.

nice to hear a bit of back story...this record is great and overably listenable in the last 14 months of the pandemic ....I can't wait to see them live....it will feel so good (as Chuck Mangione likes to say).
