Methods for exploring newly annotated species in Ensembl Rapid Release

Ғылым және технология

Newly sequenced genomes, including those produced by the Darwin Tree of Life project, are all added to Ensembl Rapid Release. These genomes have minimal annotation, with genes mapped onto the genome, protein domain analysis and homologue predictions.
This webinar will guide you through the data available for newly-annotated species in the Ensembl Rapid Release site and how to cross-reference against more fully-annotated genomes in the main Ensembl genome browser.
Who is this course for?
This webinar is suitable for any researcher in life sciences who is interested in studying genes and genomes. No prior knowledge of bioinformatics is required, but an undergraduate level knowledge of biology would be useful.
Outcomes
By the end of the webinar you will be able to:
- Explore newly sequenced genomes
- Identify how to cross-reference newly annotated genomes against fully annotated genomes
- Find more about Ensembl Rapid Release
This webinar was recorded on 9th March 2022.
