8 years ago wow. Played WoD got my first CE on this boss. I remember watching this long ago; world first ended up taking 3 weeks (if I remember correctly). This boss was properly hard and took some weak aura creation kung fu by method to come up with an easier laser mechanic. Boss ended up getting easier on later resets with arcane mages and sub rogues going nuts with that 1 trinket. Still an impressive achievement and world first. I believe this was also the last raid for Paragon. Though a good raid, this was a very bleak expansion as the player base shrunk so bad and mythic guilds were dying all over the place. Luckily Legion was next.

Method doesnt need puny 735+ legendary rings.

+L1ghTx It reminds people to use anything they have left to increase survivability, tonics, defensives, ect. Also at the end there is a short time where Archi will stay at 1 hp and if someone just casts an immunity it is a kill.

Covar I mean an immunity like a BoP or Divine shield, anything to stay alive and he will die. If your raid dies while Archi is 'dying' at 1hp its a wipe.

As someone who will never do Mythic difficulty, seeing Archi in the Nether is just cool, but after you get over that he is just ... standing... there like nothing going on behind him its a bit underwhelming. You'd think the entire Legion would be there watching their main general fighting some time hopping heroes.

you mean combat spells or overall abilities? if the latter i'd bet some are just hidden. i do that too with spells that dont have cooldowns or resources that i dont need to see on my bars.

NazzyDragon i know =) .. all i'm pointing out is i don't think that using the same cinematic for mythic makes as much sense as the lfr, normal, and heroic difficulties. Unless Archimonde really can teleport back to draenor as he was dying to preserver his soul bound to the twisting nether

Demetrius Porter But they killed him on Mythic in the twisting nerther. And the lore says that he has to be killed in the nether to be completly death. So i think thats the end of Archimonde but Gul'Dan is still alive.

barry gilbert I agree that whoever does the endgame content, should be allowed to see special fights. I draw a line however when they put lore into that super uber difficult mythic phase only, for example Cho'gal and how he pops up in Imp's fight. Doing the quests all the way through Nagrand you expect something to happen with him and if you didn't do/see the fight you'll probably think he's still waiting to strike. Sha of fear and Garrosh, they're fine because they make no impact and are just a special treat. This fight is baffling though, because it's either one or the other and we have no idea, his soul is back in the twisting nether waiting to be revived because he does die on draenor when his eyes go dark and that's all fine and good or Blizz were to lazy to animate a second cinematic for him and he really did just die in the twisting nether for good.

So blizzard did a nether phase were they "defeat him" just so he can jump back to the real world and be like HAHA i didnt die in there , i'll be back?

Zathgore lore-wise we didnt fight him at the twisting nether, it was just a "mythic dificulty bonus" (at the other dificulties this phase doesn't exist)

+Arthur Grey Funny thing is, i've had in my guild a 2500+ rogue who needed a lot of practice and reading before he was performing well in PVE raids. I've noticed that most of the time swtiching from pvp to pve when you are a good pvp player is more easy than the other way around, but there is certainly no guarantee that you are really good pve raider because you achieve 2200+ arena raiting

Sebastian M. Depending on class and speck its memorizing a rotation or ability priorities to dps properly. The only other aspect is memorization of fight mechanics if required. But rogue, especially subtlety, is a bit more work than average to dps properly. Unlike virtually every other class from hunter to lock to mage to dk etc where the rotations are exceedingly simple. My point was simply that any good pvp player can be taught fairly easily to pve at a high level. PVP requires far more understanding of ones class and frankly skill and inate ability. By contrast very few elite pve'ers could pvp well, let alone at a high level. Mouse clickers for that matter can do well in pve and generally do. PVP also requires a wider awareness than pve, which is why most pve'ers are generally extemely limited in what they can see in front of them. Even mastering such simple skills as switching targets alludes most pve'ers, even with addon and raid warnings lol If anyone reaches 2200 there is certainty they could do exceedingly well at pve, which requires a far smaller subset of the skills he used to achieve the rank.. He can literally ignore half the class skills (or more) he interweves in pvp constantly and not even worry about the awareness and anticipation required for pvp. He need only memorize fight mechanics and optimal skill rotation. Even procks and trinkets is something he would already need to comprehend well to do well in arena, so no learning even required there.

Ezzekiel its what some people in the community say. its actually hilarious when you think about it. just watch this video and then watch any video of vanilla raids. people are too blinded by the fact that back in the day everyone and their mom were backpedalling mouseclicking idiots and that gave the impression of the raids being hard when in fact it was just the players being terrible.

Well, the game WAS a lot different than it is today, what with things like threat, hit, lack of expertise/weapon skill, spell hit/pent, and lots more variables playing a role against you. Also, 40 people fully geared, experienced, fully buffed and enchanted was not an easy task to accomplish. The bosses in Vanilla-Naxx were brutal and unforgiving, Blizz didn't nerf shit, you had to deal with it. Just because there were less mechanics and phases to the fights, don't mean they didn't fuck you up if you stepped wrong, failing to deal with the "simple mechanics" quickly often meant a raid wipe and that meant bye-bye super-buffs

Ezzekiel punishing doesnt make it hard, it just makes it punishing if you do make mistakes. bosses back them were absolutely trivial and the only reason people fucked up was precisely because they were pretty bad. also, most of the difficulty back then came from gear checkpoints, like four horsemen requiring the stupid tier set bonus that makes taunt always hit.

Well. In terms of boss mechanics. It may have been not very difficult. BUT Considering the preperations that had to be made? Just think about killing Loatheb in Classic. Ye. You had to get every world boss buff including onyxia buff and then you had one try. ONE. to kill Loatheb. But imagine being on a pvp server. Guilds fighting 8hours straight just to get the privelege to kill it first. Killing.. or let's not just call it killing. Let's call it SUMMONING Ragnaros. You had to have the reputation, you coulnt respawn him endlessly - you had to go back to that stupid iland. purchase another of those stupid items. get back, and hope your try improves. Oh and what about the catch-up system if you wanted to get in a raidguild? Ye. we just qued for LFR and chilled. OH WAIT: NOPE. We had to no-life all the rest of the last damn expansion raids, with no exception. AQ trash which made you vomit if you even dared to wipe on a boss . The raid tactics itself were quiet easy compared to now. But back then, nobody had a clue what was going on, just like having sex the first time and nobody told you where to put your penis in. You couldve put it in the gap of your couch and wouldnt have felt a difference because you just didnt know better. Same as the people in the past. This is totally NOT comparable at all. Situations were different. Totally different.

TheGerudan Arthas is no more, its Canon... Archimond didnot die in the nether, so its not canon as the cinematic says. And we can still fight the Lich King in the future, but it will be Bolvar.

João Miguel Yeah but Nerzhul did the thing with that other thing and because reasons to make with the Arthas doing stuff and uhhh...time travel! Therefore he's coming back. Don't deny Blizz gave up on writing new content a long time ago. It's gonna happen.

"Do not hit the boss, aoe the small adds." How do you aoe something which is clinging to the boss and not damage the boss ? I want a new raid leader dammit, this one is confusing me!

he means dont single target the boss at all and just aoe to kill the adds. there's a big difference between using fan of knives and using fan of knives while autoattacking the boss.
