I say the same thing man. This is like hip hop to the core. It's like a party song with battle rhymes...this is what we would be dancing to in the clubs if hip hop was ruled by the culture first instead of pop rap. You might be right. Mef evolved and advanced his lyricism as the years went on and became a monster with his style. He was always dope, but he just kept getting better and better. I remember when this first came out. It would hype me up EVERYTIME. I was 22 when this came out. I'm now 37. They don't make music like this anymore. 99.99% is crap!! This is on my mixed cd. Late 80's and 90's was the best for rap. Busta Ryhmes was that boy too. They need to come back and show these nonsense talking rappers what it's all about.

Wu-Tang, Redman, Busta Rhymes, DMX, Onyx, Mobb Deep, Nas, Cube, Dre, Snoop, Rakim, G Rap, Scarface, KRS-One, Slick Rick, A Tribe Called Quest, Del The Funky Homosapien, Black Moon, and different Emcees & Groups like that, threwout the 90's, just had this majestical, magical feeling, when you listened to them. I don't get that feeling at all with the new Emcees. Obviously Mumble Rap is complete fucking trash. Fuck em all. But even when I listen to Kendrick & Cole, and dudes like that, its just not the same. I'm not saying they can't rap, because they can rap very well. They just don't pack the same punch, and don't have the soul & heart, that these older Emcees had. They're music isn't as fascinating & exciting.

The beat, sound, lyrcis and even the video just gets you so hyped. My cuz and I used to do the countdown and one spit the lyrcis haha memories! Meth, had those boys looking like the Judgement Day Knights of the Round. lol. I miss this kind of rap and creativity in videos.

It's not Vevo who's edited the song, it's just the clean / radio version - edited by the artist himself. If you bought 12inch records - or even the CD singles back in the day, you'll find they'll be a dirty version and a radio version on virtually every hip hop song, they wouldn't have been able to get radio play otherwise - and Wu Tang's radio edits were actually renowned for their inventiveness.

A lotta ppl weren't fucking with this when it dropped but I thought it pretty dope. It's on some future apocalyptic grimey-ness.

That’s absolute facts. This is facts. Back during that era, this was considered too “experimental” or too “out there”. Like some others have said, this dude was really ahead of his time.

Rappers were going 3 to 4 times platinum back then just pure album sales. Record labels had NO problem shelling out major cash to make their video into masterpieces. Look at Busta Rhymes and Missy videos.
