First vagai express and pandian express is metre gauge I am 53 now when I did my seven and eight std from thiruchy to Chennai I did in this two express with concession of the school up and down only 7 RS and they will allot the seat's in ladies compartment I am so lucky to travel with lots of nursing girls from thiruchy

Hi

Feeling nostalgic looking at the Train paint colour, meter gauge lines, old engines. Looking at all these it feels like these regions had stayed back in 1980s itself. Feels like a time travel.

I'm a 2k kid ,born in 2006 but my first train journey was a metre gauge train journey (from Udumelpet to Madurai East in Palghat Rameshwaram passenger) .

Way back , Bangalore - Mysore was Meter Gauge and I have travelled many times. The price I paid for Bangalore - Mysore was Rs. 3.75 paisa. Also there was a Narrow Gauge between Bangarpet to Oorgam (KGF) which I used to visit my Paati. 👍

I have traveled by train from Sengottai to Kollam meter and I have this experience too

🤗 in my childhood we travelled in meter guage train's steam engine, Diesel engine, and electric engine meterguage trains. Mahbubnagar to tirupati, tirupati to pondicherry via Vellore cant and Tiruvannamalai Diesel, katpadi tirupati steam engine train, Egmore to Villupuram electric meterguage and electric meter guage local train from Guindy to Egmore vice-versa.we travelled in first class, 2nd class sleeper and general also . But we missed only one coach that is ac chair car of meterguage. We ensoyyyed alot🤗 now we missed very much 🥲 nostalgia regain my child hood memories 🙂we missed Meenakshi express 🙂 from tpty to MDU 🙂

I am now 76 old. When Meter Gauge Era, I had travelled these meter Gauge train from Egmore to Madurai by Pandian express. The said toilet was comfortable. That time maximam speed limit only 80 kph.

Pallavan , Vaigai express in metre gauge had 2x2 seat configuration, which was very comfortable. It had also had pantry car. Mostly in pantry car or in toilet!😂😂😂 Toilet is very small and mostly back part will hit ! Sometimes, these trains were so fast, it would feel like it would derail any time. So, ttr would not allow to stand near door. Other journeys were from secunderabad to Bangalore - Mysore route. Bangalore to Mysore route was so green throughout the route.
