On the 55 Chevy job, gentleman a job very well done. I am an old motorhead and started turning wrenches back in 62. The art and technique is very much alive in this completion!!

Awesome job. The 55 has always been my favorite. When I was a little dude the Folks had a 55 wagon, loved that car but it was given to my brother and he sold it. But you did one hell of a job and the music was awesome too!👍👍👍✌️

While the post car is lighter and stronger than the hardtop, the hardtop just looks so much better. Either way, though the craftsmanship is excellent. I love watching metal fabrication being done well.

That’s one lovely ‘55. I love everything about it, the paint is gorgeous, the way you got every line on the car perfect. Just everything. The only issue I have is on the production side. The photos were shuffled a bit. One minute we’re watching the man in the final polishing, the next we’re watching them back to bogging the trunk/boot. Anyhow, lovely job. 😊

Many, MANY hours of labor/work just on the body alone! The results speak for themselves.

I restored a 57 Chevy and the first thing I tell people you can do it. Have a plan a magic marker sandwich bags boxes log book and a place to store you can have skills either in bodywork engine building ect but restoration is about being organized. It's an adventure and I am happy that i finished it but kind of miss the challenge good luck to all

Wow what a great build. Not sure if I would of cut the dash tho. To me the dash in a original 55 is cooler. Good looking car over all. But the cost of man hours and high dollar frame . Not sure if you can make any money. But you should get more business after this video.

Yes I couldnt agree more...I knew they were gonna fuck up the dash and put "their own version" of the dash in..but everything else is top notch for sure

I totally respect all the work and this project.. I just prefer the old school style with 15 inch wheels, carbureted engine.. just my two cents. Too modern for my taste..but beautiful work, nevertheless.

It's just a skim coat, not much there,besides with that much welding and manhandling, there's no way around it.

you have to weld in support for to keep geometry in tact when cutting out floor to chanel the body arounfd the frame been there done that the car has tendency to open up in the bottom screws up the fitiment of hood fenders and basically everything if you dont weld in support bars to keep deminsions correct

NOW THATS HOW YOU GET RID OF RUST! I WOULD BE WILLING TO PAY HARD EARNED MONEY FOR A RUST FREE CAR LIKE THIS 55! NICE JOB.

What does it take to build a car of this caliber. We are all amazed at the crew of metal fabricators and the quality of the build. Just curious what the budget was versus total cost.👍

Beautiful build. Does anyone in your shop know how to tig? Yes it is slower, but as you may well know, tig leaves you with less grinding which cyts down on time and easer to hammer out the weld, should you need to do so. Just saying. :)

I made my mom park a long way from where I had ball practice when I was a kid because I was embarrassed of our car. It was a 55 chevy. I didn't want everyone seeing our old car

amazing craftsmanship... BUT..... the 55 most iconic interior look is the dash, I'm sad with how you guys got rid of the double hump, but everything else was beautiful.

Somehow I thought it was gonna be a hardtop. Actually,I'm a tall big man,so a post would work out a tad bit better for me anyway. And less water leaks. No snappy-flappy over glass stainless thingies!

Only problem with building one of these cars you’ll never get the money back out of it that you put into it .so you better plan on keeping it for a long time or never selling it. Because nowadays there’s so many of them on the road it’s not like they’re a rare car anymore and it’s popularity has made it that way. Still it was very nice build to watch.🛠🇺🇸🛠

How many man hours did this project take? I doubt they even counted. Nice work.

I love the workmanship and attention to detail. One thing bothers me - you acid clean the shell which means ALL paint is removed. When you respray there are places a spray gun won't go, so aren't you concerned with rust from the inside out? Seems to me the back side of the skins is bare steel, no?

David...good question. Modern cars are E-coated, but the era of cars we are restoring were not. The factory assembled the cars, and painted what they could access...and rusting from the inside out was certainly not a problem. We have been acid dipping our restorations for over 20 years w/o a single issue. You can read more on the metal dipping site: metaldipping.com/
