"Metallo sneaks into an atomic research laboratory" ah yes, because as we all know sneaking involves just bulldozing your way through walls and smashing shit in the most conspicuous way possible.

I really like how Metallo has a kryptonite heart. Brilliant design choice in my opinion.

That one Geoff Johns Superman comic where all of krypton's criminals wreak havoc on earth and Supes had to team up with his rogues was pretty awesome, you got to see his enemies in a different light, they're fucking badass and most of the time have Clark on the ropes, loves supes though

I liked him in the comics after superman's death and coming back in the new electric suit. He was a teacher trying to do better and went nuts when he found out superman is alive. His action figure based off the cartoons was awesome too . He had a shovel arm and was one of my favorite toys

I don't remember the comic too much. But I can recall #1 issue superman's return in his new suit. Metallo was a teacher and he shattered his glass cup in his hands in front of his students. His struggle to be human added to his going crazy and the scene where he shattered the cup he was holding stuck with me over fifteen years later. Can't help but feel bad for the guy.

a famous set of quotes of this is when Metallo reveals himself and Superman says Metallo's name in surprise and he replies with "in the flesh"

Um...you never described his abilities. You DID mention his super strength and super tough body but you completely left out the techno-kinesis, the self-repair and matter assimilation or anything else.

Because, a sundip wouldn't get rid of Kryptonite's effects. It might offset it. Clark's body when under a red sun or green Kryptonite is slowly being drained of the solar radiation he has built up (as you already know). But Clark couldn't take a dip into the sun every single time. People could get hurt while he's aways. You also cannot sundip to negate magic. Magic negates the laws of physics and biology; science in general. It's a phenomenon that cannot be explained by science. It comes from the realm of the Supernatural. So that means it's also makes Kryptonian biology void. The only way to help Clark for both scenarios is some type of gene therapy where his molecular structure is modified where he won't be killed or he could lose his powers permanently and some type of enchantment made from someone who is an expertise at magic. Wonder Woman and Dr. Fate are the only examples of people in the DC Universe that comes to mind at the moment.

I've always liked Metallo. But I've always wondered, why is Metallo's body so... indestructible? Sure, Kryptonite is a great power source, but does it somehow also enhance the robotic frame? As far as I can tell Metallo's robotic body is still supposedly just Earth level tech...

Well Superman doesn't want to kill him when he fights him, plus due to the radiation that comes off of him it can also dampen Superman's overall strength the longer he is exposed to it. But there could be a chance that he might have some alien or above human level technology.

In my version and based on the idea of ​​a friend of mine, he will be an enemy of the Teen Titans, especially Starfire since she's exposed to a Pink Kryptonite known as Tamaranium.

There is more to him. He just is used and rewritten by different writers over time. Most recent versions of him do focus on his struggle to maintain his humanity.
