I was so depressed I never visited a show, couldn't stand it. But still this song is one of my favorites and I miss the time and spirit of the first three albums, they are a profound part of my heart and soul. RIP Cliff

Back in the late 80's there was a mega insurance scam that had quack shrinks getting paid bank to institutionalize pretty much any kid that was a skateboarder or into punk or metal. These quacks would convince the parents that the kids were worshiping Satan, and so off they went to the nut house to be doped up and routinely beaten until that magical day when their parents insurance ran out and they were all of a sudden "cured". This song is also an anthem to those kids who never got over the trauma of this happening to them for absolutely no valid reason other than these for-profit institutions paying quack shrinks to convince parents to institutionalize their kids so that they could bilk the insurance companies.

I was wrongly diagnosed paranoid schizo by a psychiatrist my parents took me to, and after getting angry at my parents and breaking their house window I was institutionalized for the first time, in a psychiatric close ward asylum, after getting used toa somewhat cozy life, I first encountered pure evil, strangers violence, beating and restraining helpless poor people, old woman getting naked an restrained, fear that is predominating every decision you make, verbal sexual and physical humiliations coming from the medical staff, overdoses, neglection of ill people until they suffocate and closing an 80 yo individual in the toilet for the whole day. and people who lost their mind from the treatment... I encountered the pure evil called psychiatry, and I must tell you - this song, tells nothing really... it is much, much, worse... May the evil men and women, the modern nazis of modern psychiatry, be put to justice! both eternal, and by the supreme court of law! may they undergo the same suffering they bestow upon the poor and the helpless and we shall say Amen

I've been listening to this song pretty much since its release. Always liked the song but never took in the words. I was always impressed with the "face melting" guitar solos and the soul of rock n roll. Recently I've' put myself into a bad living situation, came across this track on a spotify playlist, and it was like I heard it for the first time. The lyrics to this song scare me! It's funny how music affects people. Like this song never really had an affect on me, but 30 years later it hella does! I'm gonna try getting to a point with this. Treat people nice. Be kind. If you want to disrespect someone and be mean to them because of bullshit reasons...you might be fucking with the wrong person? That person might be watching this video, reading the lyrics, and affecting them.

Everyone think that i am schizoid...yeah but only sometimes because i am only borderline so that s one of the "personalities" that i go into when i just don t feel anything. I had no one in my life but now i have my two best friends that are all for me. They saved me but sometimes because of my mental illnes i feel that nothing is enough and the love that everyone give to me is never enough. I just feel more so i need more. I was sexual abused hundred times and bullied for 8 years so i need more and more love. I love this song because most of people always thought that i am mad, but i m not mad, i m just like other people, and other people is mad but they just don't show it. By the way i LOVE metallica and this is my favorite song❤❤
