Metallica are still great live, no doubt about that. But they were in their prime live from 1988-1993. Back then they just destroyed everything and everyone. The pure intensity and aggression especially of the Damaged Justice Tour - They don't come close to that today. Nevertheless, they are still one of the best live bands on the planet. But back then they were by far the very best.

There are people who only like Kill 'Em All... there are those who only like the '80s albums... some add the Black Album to that... some people like everything through the '90s... some people hate St. Anger while some love it... and people feel strongly about everything since Death Magnetic. (I feel like DM, Hardwired, and 72 are a trilogy in some ways.) Point is, no matter where one jumps off (if they jump off at all), we should be decent to people who jumped off at another point, dislike certain albums, or never jumped off at all. Music is subjective. Screw gatekeepers.
