METALLICA? | Parkway Drive - "Darker Still" (REACTION / REVIEW) | KECK
This is my reaction to the BRAND NEW Parkway Drive song "Darker Still"!! The song is the title track of Parkway Drive's upcoming new album "Darker Still" out in september. The almost 7 minute track takes influence from "Black Album" era Metallica (especially songs like "Nothing Else Matters" and "The Unforgiven") and is a massive sounding ballad that is for sure very different from anything they've ever done (even their last album "Reverence").

Notably softer than the album’s previously released singles Glitch and The Greatest Fear - and indeed anything the Aussie metalcore stalwarts have put out in their near two-decade career - Darker Still is a sprawling seven-minute acoustic guitar-driven ballad with an air of Metallica’s The Unforgiven, expanding with electric guitars and Winston McCall’s trademark screams in its second half.

Sounds like every melodic metal band from Finland it rocks
I got stairway to heaven vibes for sureeeee. These guys have matured so much and i am here for it. Listened to em since 2008, and I've never disliked a single track by them. Such an amazing band, such amazing progression.
This song is amazing and gave me tons of chills, i really like the album overall, they tried crazy things and i respect that
I got huge Nothing Else Matters vibes too
First song of the 3 I liked straight off the bat. The others took some working up too, but this one had my jaw on the floor 30secs in. Great video mate.

Yeah I feel the same way! The first 2 have definitely grown on me, but imo they don't even come close to how good this song is.. Glad you enjoyed it!! :D

Im speechless what a song
I have a band that I think you would love, that is if you haven't heard them yet. The band is persefone, and the song is titled the majestic of gaia. I just know you will love it.
Has nothing else matters vibes. The extended rhythmic solo reminds me of chronos minus the bit of shredding at the end.
I actually kinda feel sorry for the people who always listen to the same sort of stuff and hate every change/evolution of a band. Be open to new stuff, try to understand things and you can grow as well.
i did not expect this from parkway drive but i am a huge fan, yes the song will get a lot of hate and yes its not normal parkway drive but if anyone else put's out this song then everyone loves it
