Tips And Comments:
- Playing Technique:
Played next to the neck pickup with high strength. Bridge pickup volume at 0
- Gear Sound:
All effects and processing are digital. For most of the parts i added a fuzz wah pedal with middle amount of fuzz, high compression and boosted mid frequencies. Also a little treble added. For distortion parts i added high frequency distortion into the mix
- About The Song:
I had to play the solo separately, mostly because i don't own a distortion pedal or some thing that allows me to change effects between part of the song, and i needed distortion for that solo in order to play it well

I gotta give cliff an jason kudos each one of them brought Metallica to higher levels in music. 80s cliff was the glue also the bassist god lol. 90s Jason just killed everything he touched but in a good way an made that much better. 2000s to current Rob is just showing 100% he can roll with the legends and make them sound great.

I will always be grateful that Metallica has had amazing bass players, but I’m even more grateful that they finally have more live recordings where you can really hear the bass parts now!! Anyone wanting some awesome riffs to play, I HIGHLY recommend the one that starts around the 04:00 or so. Awesome, and fairly easy to learn (going by speed) compared to the faster stuff usually played in most of their songs.

That was awesome! Thanks. The tab looks (and sounds) way more accurate than the old Bass-Songbook published back in the day.

Manu Perez That's exactly what I meant. 32 notes on bass aren't uncomon in extreme metal. Please reread my comment. I didn't use "doubling" for no reason.

***** sorry, you only said doubling guitars and drums. I thought you didn't see the "bass" part of the 32nd notes, because you didn't mention it. I don't really listen to extreme metal though, so I don't observe this type of fast playing much.

Am McBush Do they use it for bass solos though? I think that's really the part I was impressed about with this. I haven't listened to death metal yet. I like metal with a bit of melody in them, as in the perfect balance and fit of thrash and melody together.
definitely their best song! it’s just so beautiful but badass at the same time!!!!
Dude, your cover of this song is sick!! 🤘🤘 Most definitely on my bucket list!!
4:06 moment of perfection

I promise you no ones a bass king - The only thing that seperates us is the amount of hours we practice. If you practiced as much as the pros do, you'd be just as good as them.

@@caio42631 No, even them, just since this lockdown started, my playing and speed has almost doubled, and its only been 6 weeks, those guys play and practice every day - Nah you'd probably be even better than Steve Harris👍🏻🙂

@@daveharris514 I agree with your sentiment, however Cliff Burton exists, so it's not 100% accurate
Kick ass man, now we all know you do covers flawlessly I would love to see some original material that I'm sure you can do keep up the great work.
what i find really awesome about cliffs playing is that he sometimes managed to escape from the boring "bass duty" in heavy metal genre. Like, playing the the same riff as the guitar or just playing the tonic notes of the chords. every single album he was alive, he gave us some incredible and memorable melodies (anesthesia, for whom the bell tolls, orion just to name a few ).
