Nothing like Jason on backing vocals period. One of reasons why people still love him to this day is becuase he was the guy that connected with crowd. All those crowd interactions we are used to now were all Jason going wild on shows.

CLIFF is the soul of Metallica. JASON was the spirit of the stage.

Jason once said that the 91-93 era Metallica was the best the band ever played. I’m old school Cliff era fan so I called bullshit… but he’s right. James voice at his best and they were tight af. Not as brutal or raw but a well-oiled machine.

Jason was in the right place, at the right time, to experience and be a part of the greatest era of Metallica. He did his time and now he's gone. But, he'll never be forgotten.

Cliffs path was a tragic one and was a hell of a bassist but Jason played a big roll in bringing Metallica to the top! I could listen to him sing his part in creeping death on a loop🤘🤘

Jason was the the chained down Anselmo of Metallica man. He was such a vital part of the band’s continuation. When the rest of guys are going through the motions, he was giving it 10000% every single night. On stage, and with the fans.

The performance of one sounds so good. The bass actually makes the clean riff sound so much better.

Incredible Bass-Sound!! I was in the Maimarkthalle in Mannheim at the time. Metallica were bursting with power and it was transmitted to the audience. They were so full of energy! That was thanks to Jason at the time!

Jason placed the raw energy into Metallica. When you compare 2000s videos to this one, you know that something is missing-Jason.

Lars must have been in a really good mood that performance because the bass guitar is really audible throughout this entire performance. Just don't tell Lars though.

It’s so good to see how my feeling are shared by an overwhelming majority of fellow ‘tallica fans. Love James, Lars and Kirk to bits , but Jason was the drive, the heart, the soul , the passion, the purity of that band. Give me the musical talent and knowledge of cliff and the passion, dedication and stage presence of Mr. Newkid, and you have the perfect bassist.

I was there! That was my second Metallica Concert! Thank you for this! My first one was at the Damaged Justice Tour! Not even one year later was my third one at the Zeppelin-Field in Nuremberg! 20 more followed and in Munich 2024 i will see them for the 24th time. Will always remember the first few ones and Munich 2015 when i was on stage as i had won the on-stage with Metallica contest.

I think the reason they’ve always been so successful is the testosterone level is off the charts which I find extremely attractive and most real men can easily relate to. They’re just like regular guys playing in their garage. Not the talent level of course but the way they dress, act and talk. They never had stage or “celebrity” personas like most bands. Both women and men can appreciate it. Of course they are the best band in the world also!

Metallica Fan since 92 actually. Enjoying a lot their ongoing world Tour, which is almost perfect, but man what would i give to experience this almost frightening eneryg they had back then.

Jason hadn't sheered his hair yet. You have to wonder how surprised/pissed they ( James ) were when he showed up with no hair. "I don't remember giving you permission to do that."

I read a story that they all tricked Jason into saying they were going to be cutting their hair. Jason cut it around the beginning of 93 and the others didn't until a few years later.

Try the 2023 Amsterdam Concert (Fixxerdcs has the best version), the crowd knows the lyrics and it sounds brilliant. TBF the whole band sound shit about 2011 - 2020

25 Songs in one concert…. they were killer theses times. James said that they need 1:30 to get „warm“
