Haha. No wonder James didn’t want to be the singer. Really grew into his position. Cool to hear these early shows

Nothing wrong with james voice, he was a freaking teenager. The birth pains of early thrash before they took over the world.

jump in the fire wouldve been a cool album name for kill em all, this song while simple is extremely underrated imo, definetly one of the best metallica songs

Why did they slow the song down? This sounds more fun. Sometimes this song is a drag since is the same riff over and over. Also James voice 😂 Also Kirk ripped the fuck out of Dave but I also hear a lot of Dave techniques Kirk couldn’t replicate.

@@yearginclarke yeah. He was basically trying to imitate the likes of Diamond Head, Blitzkrieg, etc.! It’s funny how James developed his own signature vocal whereas Mustaine kinda stuck with the same blueprint.

@@allanchrist666 Yes I read many years ago that he was trying to imitate those guys, but thankfully he found his own style. I love all his 80's album vocals, Puppets and RTL being my favorite. And even the Black album vocals are pretty damn good for what the music called for, if you ask me. I do like Load musically and vocally as well, but that's where things started to change into the modern Hetfield vocal style.

@@yearginclarke I had to bomb out after the black album. Although it did have some great B-sides. To me it’s about the first 3 and giving Justice a generous pass.
