Record companies decides, the band have no say. This is one of reasons I love ToP, they hate not being to have a say in what song gets promoted.

It depends on the contract, in some cases artists do have creative control over their songs.

You are right, at this point it is all about personal opinions. For me, i love this new version way tooo much and was never really into the original. Of course, there is a reason why that is the original and i dont want to deny that, all that im saying is that in the end of the day, it is great to have both versions, because it gives diversity to the song, and people get a chance to like either of them better, and listen to that one.

Agreed!! There are many songs that I love lyrically but musically don't appeal to me. So I am overjoyed when there's a stripped down version and I usually enjoy those better.

Honestly I was at a shock just like you and didnt really like the song, but after the third listen I'm really digging it and like obsessed with it

It's very different. Maybe he is happy (his wife is pregnant)? If you listen it through amplifier & subwoofer, a lot of nice bass there too.

I actually listened to that album in February. I had high hopes after hearing their energetic track Welcome to The Freakshow. I was honestly disappointed in the album and it didn't really stand out to me. It honestly sounded a little suppressed. Anyways I have no idea when I'll react to Amongst The Giants. Prolly when a new release rolls around!
