If you like this one, you should listen to "Getaway Car" lyric video next. I love her music videos and her live performances even more, but for a first time listen the lyric video is optimal because she's such a complex songwriter.

I feel like this one serves harder live. You can find a million eras tour performances of this song, even just for yourself. She growls live in a way that's smoothed out on the studio version. You're right, though, the melody is undeniable no matter what. 😀

Please do more of the tortured poets department album because all the songs paint a picture of the same story of her leaving her 6 year boyfriend and rebounding to her situationship of 10 years (Matty Healy from the 1975) and him DESTROYING her. I’ve read that some people interpret it as a metaphor for his options of other girls, since in the song they’re not exclusive and it’s a secretive romance. I always pictured in my mind the literal image of a vending machine at a hotel or resort since maybe they’re hooking up in discreet places. 😂
