Zenith is like a hidden gem.

This is basically a MCC song recorded by Ghost during the Meliora recording sessions. This time, the mastermind behind it is Martin Persner (leader of MCC), who played guitar in Ghost during the first 3 albums.

I've always thought that Zenith is the perfect halfway point between MCC and Ghost. And it's also very nearly a perfect song.

It is available on Spotify. If it’s only available in Sweden you can always use a VPN.

The fact this song is sort of the "forgotten" song says a lot about how the cream definitely doesn't always rise to the top. I don't care if it's not on the album, we're on the Internet. You can easily find this song. Also, how to pronounce the albums like an American: Infest-tiss-uh-mum; Melly-aura. Also, I believe Tobias does every vocal except the few times he's used his kids (I know he uses his daughter on Twenties on Impera).

Yesss, welcome to the Zenith lovers club!! Quite a big club, apparently. What an amazing song, damn. It's only available in Spotify for the Scandinavian fans, if I recall correctly!!! Lucky them! The other option it's to get a physical copy of Meliora Redux, a Deluxe edition, but that's almost impossible, unfortunately. I downloaded Zenith from KZread and at least I can listen to it on my phone! This song is a fucking masterpiece.

Just think about the level of quality from Ghost. Then think about the Meloria sessions, and how they recorded all the album tracks, plus Square hammer and Zenith. Amazing. I really like Zenith, but think it has a bit of overlap with Cirice - which is the centerpiece of Meloria, so could see why it was left off.

That image is a play on the Rosemary's Baby poster. Just another one of Ghost's references to horror.

Absolutely my favorite Ghost song. They have never played it live. If Tobias ever puts it in the set list, the entire audience will lose their collective shit. Martin / Omega definitely is a talented writer. I think you will like MCC even more knowing his contribution to this song. Again, I recommend Porcupine Tree. Try Hatesong live in Chicago and Cheating the Polygraph live in Tilburg. Cheers!

Personally when somebody tells me to give them a Ghost song to hear this is the song that I will always recommend first. It’s so good and is just very fascinating to know that it was never released to streaming services. One of and if not the best song that Ghost has ever written.

Zenith is about mankind reaching it's perfection (zenith) and therefore have no use for a God. That's why he sings "help you god" instead of "god help me". God is on his own and set free from his oblications to mankind. The rumor is that Martin Persner wrote the most of the song and yes you can hear inspiration from Magna Carta Cartel in this one. Why it was left out and never played live only Tobias and Martin knows.

Also one of my many many many favorite songs, plus I really love this drum track, so fun to play 🥁❤️🤘

Fuck yeah, Zenith!! I honestly don’t know why it isn’t on Meliora… I gotta find the exact reason. But I know the only way to get a physical copy of Zenith is by getting the limited edition Meliora box set that has a very cool green colored 7 inch of this in it. I have it and am embarrassed to divulge how much I paid for it 😂

I love this song when hearing it, then immediately forget it exists. Very rare for my music head.

I enjoy the shit out of your channel. Keep at it brother. Glad I found this channel. I've been absomuthafuckin'lutely infatuated with Ghost for a year now. I've been playing guitar since I was 10 and grew up in the mid to late 70"s and 80's. Finally a band that utilizes almost every genre of music and incorporates it brilliantly and originally. Peace brother.

Zenith Is my favorite track with Kaisarion close behind, I go crazy whenever one of them starts playing heh.

Fantastic song. My inly crotque of your critique is I think an absence of a guitar solo was the right call on this one. They subbed in am extended choir segment instead, and I feel it fits way better woth the 'evil' sound haha. I think a guitar solo in the middle of this would actually detract from the song

Tobias sings the songs on the album alone, but live he has a couple ghouls that sing with him, one of them plays acoustic guitar and the other one plays piano/keyboard

the riff of this song came out from a band called "MCC" the name of the song is "that it's already too late too leave". you should to listen to them, cause they are awesome. this year, they released a new album called "The Dying Option" which to worth listen to it. imo it's one of the best album of 2022. this song and year zero is the only two ghost songs which Tobias is not the main writer, it's Martin Persner AKA Omega, he is credit as "Indio Marcato". MCC SONG STORIES # 5 - THAT IT IS ALREADY TOO LATE TO LEAVE. This song originates from a series of riffs created way back in maybe 1998, created by @martin_persner when trying to find his way around writing picking-patterns that was based on drone tones. Funny enough, another ”riff” from that same time is the intro/vers/bridge pattern later used for @thebandghost ”Zenith” in 2015: a riff also heavily reliant on its drone tones.

Zenith is pure perfection.

This is one of my favorite Ghost songs. It bothers me that whoever put the lyrics on this video wrote "right will turn to wrong" when the song actually says "Night will turn to dawn". So it goes: "time will soon be gone, night will turn to dawn, winds come on strong, so help you God, come unleashed, you've set free"

I’m super late but ghost finally released zenith on their new best hits album 13 commandments! Not sure about Apple Music but it’s up on Spotify now just if you haven’t noticed yet!

Its funny you bring up Zenith being played live bc its a years long running joke in the fandom of "will they ever play zenith live?" (to my knowledge they never have) So much so that in the "Metal Myths Pt 2" vid its brought up and its damn funny if you understand it.

I know how you can get an original version. You have to buy the ultra limited edition vinyl Papa Emeritus box set. It's extremely rare but that's the only way you can hear the original version of this song. Yeah you can hear this version all over but only the ones who bought this set can hear the real version. Go to a Ghost ritual as soon as you can. It's fucking awesome. \,,/
