Thank you for introducing me to Ningen-isu. They have been in Japan for a long time and have been working part time until recently. It's not that easy to be a real band in Japan. But thanks to Heartless Scat on KZread, they got the attention of the West and did their first European tour earlier this year, just before the new Corona. It happened in small live venues in Germany and the UK. I'd say the live shows were a great success. In March, they were scheduled to play a rock festival in North America, but unfortunately they had to cancel it due to the new corona. They are devotees of Black Sabbath, and the white-painted bass player Kenichi Suzuki is a big fan of KISS. I hope that the new Corona is overcome soon, really soon, and that they get to tour North America. And I hope they get an ovation at Metal Fest. Because that would be the day their 30 years of hard work would be rewarded. Thank you so much for introducing them to us.

They have never achieved serious recognition until this song. Album after album, they are recognized by niche music listeners, but have never charted in (or out of) Japan. This video on KZread absolutely blew them up, and finally led to them getting to do a (very small) international tour, their American dates cancelled due to the COVID lockdown...

Ningen Isu formed in 1987. Shinji Wajima (guitar) influenced by The Beatles, King Crimson, Deep Purple, Led Zeppelin and Black Sabbath. Kenichi Suzuki (bass) was a KISS fan. Their Drummer Nobu Nakajima join the band in 2004 until now.

NINGEN ISU have been a very small band for most of the time they have been around. They are one of the bands that have been caught up in people looking in to Japanese music, due to Babymetal, and the people started to ask reactors, like yourself to check them out (proof of free advertising) and slowly they started to get bigger in the west. They did start to tour around the world at the start of this year, but that had to stop.

I found out about this awesome band just several months back and they're already on my daily basis playlist. They have many great songs to react to. Try checking out "The Colour Out of Space", their horror-themed song that's equally awesome.

a few months late here... the shabadabadia part is the heartless scat. the style of singing without using actual words. it's very common in jazz. it's usually done in a very happy attitude, like trying to imitate a jazz trumpet......but he does it in disheartened(i guess that's the "heartless" part of the song title, lost in translation) way. in my humble opinion that adds a lot to the song. it's like simulating singing while singing....like some sort of meta-singing.....

@@beardedwonderstudios i wish i had continued learning japanese when i was in university, so i would be able to understand the original lyrics. there's so much that gets lost in translation. what i did notice just today is that the title of the song is part japanese(which i dont understand) and part english(in katakana, which i do understand). the symbol that looks like @ is "no" which means the part that comes after it belongs or has meaning in relation to the part that comes before it. and what is after it is "su-ka-a-to", which is the way the japanese would adapt the word "scat" to their phonetics..... so scat of something, i'm assuming that something is someone who is disheartened, which was translated to "heartless". so much gets lost in translation......near the begining where the translation says "will you bless me on the cheeks?" probably has a deeper meaning than that translation, but i chose not to continue japanse, so that's what i get.

I've heard they're pretty trigger-happy on blocks. From Mongolia: The HU Band - Wolf Totem (original or the version featuring Jacoby Shaddix) Big recommendation: Closed Captions on for all the videos!

For example "It happened quiet" Live at The Current. Or maybe more rock, this time from Mexico, in The Warning (Dust To Dust). Metal from New Zealand in Shepherds Reign (Le Manu). Nordic folk from people from several different countries (Germany, Norway and Denmark) in Heilung. I could go on, but I believe your list is already miles long.

This is a fun band that has put in the time and effort and is finally getting the recognition it deserves, mostly due to this song on KZread (that's how I found them, it was on my suggested list and I clicked). If you love the music, we love you! Now Asian metal is exploding, but I can still remember black (bands) in metal in the eighties and nineties...
