V is killing his album promotions! It feels like he picked everything he's doing so deliberately, just things he's always wanted to do maybe, but couldn't as part of BTS. He's so creative and just having the time of his life. I absolutely love it.

As it should be. I think that the commitment and success they earned with the group should give them freedom to do what they want as soloists and not worry about commercial success.

true! I bet he wanted to do all these but can't because he's in a group. Now that he's doing his solo promotions he gets to do almost all he've been wanting to do for a long time.

This was so sweet and quirky and absolutely charming. So very V. V's promotion campaign is one of the best I've ever seen. It's so personal and intimate. He's really engaging with people at all levels and doing it so genuinely. If I weren't a fan already, I'd have to become one. 💜🩷💜

This is the single most Tae thing I’ve ever seen. It’s funny kind spontaneous unusual fun. I’ve never seen any such thing and he looked so excited. 20 seconds of utter confusion on their faces. BTS land is so confusing they have us meeting strangers in the woods (Benny Blanco) going off with random bears in cities. 😂

Taehyung's voice singing live is the best thing I've ever heard in my life (fact)

This has long been one of Tae's wishes. To just go about Korea, ride the public transport, walk around, talk to random people, perform in public guerilla style, then disappear before it gets rowdy. He even suggested it as a Run BTS episode. For them to individually go out in public, do a task and then meet in a designated place just like amazing race. But the condition should be that people do not recognize them as BTS. His ideas are so much fun and so novel. He really craves interaction with people in the most normal way possible. And I'm happy he get to do stuff like these.

This was so much fun! I think you will also enjoy Dingo Story with V. It is when he spent a day with an army. It is so heartwarming . Also the making of Layover MV.

Thank you so much for this reaction, John! It was so fun watching the expressions on the faces of the people once they realised it's really V. Also it's so good to see Taehyung walking on the streets casually - that's one of the things they had to give up when they got famous. This is the kind of impish undertaking that can only come from Taehyung's unique brain. I bet it took a ton of planning and prep to make it work. Also, they would have reconnoitered to find the right station where they can set up and which has sufficient cover for the camera crew and additional staff. Taehyung is so sweet; it reminds me of the end of their shoot in Mexico where he danced on the footpath for the people who gathered to watch the filming. Thoughtful as well, he continued to cook the rest of the chicken and had the staff box them up and distribute them to the watching people. Also fun to watch the end of the video - they got enough money to buy coffees, lol!

Tae said in Suchwita that he wasn't doing any grand promotions. He did not plan on promoting in the US or the UK (I wish he did) but this is the kind of thing that he wanted to do. He wanted to show HIMSELF. This and the date with an Army and the Tiny Desk performance, etc. are all intimate events that really makes him sooooo ENDEARING! All love to V and his work!

When I first watched it, I had the exact same thought as you - how Iris Stevenson from American Hustle Life would have SO SO SO PROUD of V with his songs on Layover. It's so sad that she passed away February 20th 2021 and wasn't here to see how her influence on V so many years ago came to fruition in a spectacular way but I'm sure she is watching from above and smiling and clapping and saying "THAT'S WHAT I'M TALKING ABOUT!"

Trust V to come up with content like this... well, it does enable him to come closer to what I hope were ARMYs... but yeah, it takes guts, confidence and persistence to be able to pull off something like this... 'cos it's actually very real and humbling, and it's what indie musicians experience all the time... but with him being where he is right now in his career, he doesn't really have to do this, and yet he did it... I dunno why, but he somehow gave me Ashton Kutcher "Pranked" vibes here... haha! 🙂

I've already watched this but it was fun to watch again and see your reaction. I thought this was so funny. Can you imagine finding out later you could have seen him for 20 seconds and you said no. When you "said are those just random people" they weren't He didn't go alone he had his manager and at least a couple people on the train- I think that's why he was miked up. I can't wait to watch it with subtitles. I'm really hoping they filmed enough for at least one more episode. I don't think he was the one on the street until the last one because of the clothes and he really had to rush to get behind the curtain.
