Two epic performances, however its my opinion that his duet of Jasmine Flower with Wu Tong is even better, or at least as good. His Swan Goose, Dimashs duets with with Tengri, is also out of this world ! 💞🦌

Thanks John! I'm not sure how familiar you are with Peking opera, but Lee plays the Concubine to Dimash's Emperor. If I recall correctly about the plot, the Emperor heard a rumour that his favourite concubine had cheated & this is a dialogue (with Diva Dance added in) between the concubine, who's trying to remind the Emperor of all the wonderful times they had together, and the Emperor, who's resisting.

Not cheating. The song tells the true story of Imperial Concubine Yang, most Favoured of His Imperial Majesty Tang Tai Zong of the tang dynasty. He was so infatuated with her that he neglected his official duties to the extent that there rose a rebellion against him. His generals demanded he put her to death or they would overthrow him themselves. He had no choice but to strangle Concubine Yang, a famous beauty and dancer, with a silk cord. Some stories say that he had refused to kill her and she was the one who went to him with cord in hand and persuaded him to do the deed himself so he could keep his kingdom and life. The song mentions Ma Wei Po (Ma Wei Hill), which was where she died and was hastily buried. But you're right that she was reminding him of their times together, so this song takes the stance that she was trying to persuade him to spare her.

Thank you. Dimash is playing the Emperor and Li Yugang is playing the concubine. (he plays women's parts in the Peking Opera). The emperor is sentencing her to death for treason. She reminds him of the wonderful time that they had together when they were drunk. He wishes that they could have one more drunken time together. :D And then there's 'Diva Dance' ! This is one of the best duets ever! It is great and gets better with each viewing.

Dimash is like a manga cartoon in real life. Sometimes he doesn't seem to be real but is totally flesh and blood, and thoughts, and feelings. There are some special people that come to this world to make the difference, Dimash is one of them.

Dimash has sung Jasmine quite a number of times, usually as a duet, sometimes solo, or even as a group. Recently, in 2023, it was for the opening of the 10th Silk Road Performances with Tia Ray and everyone else. If you watch it, you'll know what i mean. It's not on his KZread channel but on his Instagram.

Wow! Awesome reaction, John. First, Lee is a traditionally trained Peking Opera singer who can sing female parts and the way he sings the female part is very typical of Peking Opera style. Of course, Dimash's awesome voice comes in and you can identify him anywhere. I loved your SHOCKED reaction when he just threw in that whistle note. With Dimash, you have to expect the unexpected, and that was exactly it. The Jasmine song. This version was paired with a digital female character, which I don't even think it was a real person's voice. It sounded computerized in order to match up with Dimash. It was very interesting that he broke off from the traditional Chinese melody and inserted his trademark vocal runs that are almost Middle Eastern/Kazakh flavored. Loved that.

❗I saw the filming of enormous PATIENCE ! The 1st one, they must have sat in those 2 chairs for hours ! No exaggeration. You could tell by the editing and amount of work going on around them. I kept staring at Dimash wondering what was going on in his head, his face completely impassive. The audience laughing, talking, eating, napping ! When all was ready bam ! They all immediately started working. All for a few minutes of singing. Show "Business" and it is.

This is one of my all time favourite performances - both Dimash and Li are masters in their own right but Dimash‘s voice and vocal acrobatics are in matched. Li Yugang is a big Peking Opera star in China famed for his nandan (male singing female) roles. There are a few versions of Dimash singing Jasmine - he was invited again to perform Jasmine in China last year. He is on another level. Love that you love Dimash. Worth watching. Dimash also sang a song for the video game - Ocean Over the Time. Those who like Dimash and heard him live will love him even more. Здравствуйте. Для меня Димаш непревзойдённый артист. Могу слушать его не переставая. Но недавно я посмотрела фильм и заинтересовалась актером, играющим хирурга с раздвоением личности. Оказалось, он композитор, музыкант, в том числе пишет музыку к фильмам. Ещё он поёт. Его зовут Но Мин-у или Minue. Его вокал показался интересным. Я редко слышала такое изящное и контролируемое расщепление) Возможно, я отношусь предвзято, так как он красивый и высокий 😂 Хотелось бы узнать ваше мнение как музыканта. Думаю, этот человек мог бы быть более популярным. Предлагаю послушать Live show 2012 Seul, Beautiful day, forget me not За Димаша лайк не глядя 😂

Hola John. Me gusta mucho cuando Dimash hace dúos, como dices, mis respetos a los que se animan a hacerlo con la mejor voz del mundo y también en los dúos se escucha la voz cristalina de Dimash. También es de notar que en los dúos Dimash siempre se ajusta a la tonalidad de los otros cantantes ya que sería imposible que ellos se ajustaran a Dimash. Hasta con la I A se ajusta Dimash ya que se escucha perfectamente acoplado a la voz artificial en la canción de Jazmín. Saludos desde Nicaragua ❤

John you are a Nutterball multiple Dimash I feel spoiled. Thank you! I knew you would enjoy both performances. Li is known for singing female roles within the Peking Opera (hopefully, I didn’t butcher that information). In Jasmine he is singing with a Vocaloid. From what I understand pretty popular in China. They even I believe have groups that have vocaloid members.

Hi again. I would never ask you to halt your Dimash reactions, but if you're looking for something a bit different, I'd strongly suggest Hua Chenyu. I learned about him (well-respected Chinese singer) when he entered the competition I Am Singer the year after Dimash entered. I don't think comparisons between he and Dimash are fair, but where Dimash's music has been described as a wide range of pop type songs, Hua's definitely a rocker, which is why I'm pretty sure you'll like him. He is an amazing singer, composer, musician. Because you like metal, I'd recommend starting with Nunchucks. He sings in four different styles in this one song.
