Diana's normal working range is 3.5 octaves; she said she could go higher, but teachers still discourage her from fully loading her vocal cords at this age. Nevertheless, she often tests her highs, for example, in Take On Me, As Your Voice, I Call You Russia, Into the Sky. Diana's high pitch sounds very nice, smooth, silky. Probably not the best introduction to Diana for Lily, as it's virtually all sung in her lower register. I know you've already done "Derniere Danse", "Wicked Game" & "Rechenka", but, they all give a better idea of Diana's versatility and range - it might be interesting to see Lily's take on "Rechenka" for instance. It should also be bourn in mind, that in these performances, Diana was aged 14/15 (now 18) and her voice has developed considerably over the last 2-3 years and will continue to develop for several more years. @@MattFarkas sorry i was refering to Lilly .... The Russian language from my limited understanding doesnt use the terms a or is.. Human is very personal to her...possibly because of her negative early childhood and also that unique polyphonic contralto voice marking her out. She only has to hear a song a couple of times and if she likes the feel she can memorise it. However without a good English speaker tutoring her she doesnt always get a English word or pronounciation. This song shows this at a couple of points but it doesnt undermine her voice as an instrument or her dramatic ability. The Russian music business seems a little insular and is controlled by a small number of people, so she has to work hard to develope as an artist....hopefully she can get to mix with performers and writers of different backgrounds and who can inspire here to develope her own style to best show off her unique sound. She seems a genuinely talented and very human young lady...and still only 18. Seeing her Rechenka and Wicked game first i was immediately reminded artistically of Kate Bush but obviously with a very different sound pallet. 😉🤗
