I like the quality of the video and seamless information presented. However, the music piano was too loud at the beginning and distracting from his voice and muffled what Jethro was saying. Music ruins these types of videos. It is not needed. Once the music stopped I could hear what he was saying clearly and enjoyed it from that point on.

It's the honesty of the content in these uploads make them well worth watching. No quick edited highlights showing everything finished in double quick time - that don't happen with old cars, we who do it, know it - and Jethro knows it too and shows the reality of a car build. Tiny steps, the ups and the downs. Another quality video from Mr Bronner.

I have 40 years in the resto trade and you are doing good work for someone that isn’t a body guy. When your shrinking you need someone to hand the torch to so you can get the hammering and cooling done quick. Set up is key so it is quick but not rushed. You should get a slapper for working the hot spot too. Much better then a hammer. Keep up the good work mate.

lots of passion here, my classic daily driver had bad floor pans, aftermarket sound deadener was just a sponge for water, i ended up removing said deadener, grinding whatever i could and then coating it with rustoleum rust reformer, most holes were pin holes and the biggest was the size of a large coin. im no welder nor do i have access to one so after the rust reformer i put down some aluminium butyl tape to cover the holes before more rust reformer over the top. Not the best solution but should last another 10-20 years before i need to worry about doing some welding. I hope one day to have that skill and knowledge.

I have a 1970’s Ford Escort with a similar number of small (possibly hail damage) dents, I hired a guy from ‘dent-master’; he took half a day worked without a break using his special tools and he popped all the dents out, no heat, no suction cups or glue pads, just a series of long ‘spoons’ with a fulcrum pivot braced against the nearest support. Roof looks good as new now, and his 4/5hrs call out charge was less than €250.

Great update, looking forward to seeing this car come together, you’re spot on about the details, when I had mine restored there’s so much more that could have been done on the metal, I look at it now and I’m very critical, yet many people don’t see what I see. Restoring old cars to a good standard is hugely time consuming, but it is time well spent. 👍🏻

Back in the day we called that color baby s**t brown. I learned rust repair on my first car, purchased in 1967, a 1964 registered 101 Series Alfa Sprint 1600 Normale. The first of many Alfas to follow until I had had enough in the 1990s, a man should know his limits. Now I daily drive a 2016 Mazda MX-5/Miata and am, with 71,000 trouble free miles on it, very happy. Cars have come a long way but I won't be making the transition to electric cars, I like engines and shifting gears too much. But the GTVs are beautiful cars, if I had the means I would have another one, they just look so right.

Great work, Jethro. Suggest using a non shrinking seam sealer in the bonnet, never over bare metal. Silicone has a tendency to rot sheet metal. Suggest a 2 part sound deadener material, such as Sem 39977. This will stop flapping, and keep moisture out. Do Not use foam- it will cause waves in your metalwork. Cheers
