I can explain the singing cow puns. What is it called when a cow sings?: A lawsuit. In Korean, Lawsuit is 소송 (sosong) and Cow is 소 (so). Jin likes to make multilingual puns, so when a cow sings, a mix of Korean and English is a Cow Song/소 Song/Lawsuit. What is it called when a group of cows sing together?: A group lawsuit. Group is 단체 (sounds a little like dance) and again, Lawsuit is 소송 (sosong), so a group of cows would sing a Dance Song or Dance soSong/단체 소송/Group Lawsuit. He's actually quite brilliant and uses these goofy things to downpay it. :)

I don’t like to request a reaction to Spring Day until the reactor knows the boys better. So when you get there DEFINITELY react to the MV spring day AND the spring day explanation video. It will blow your mind. RM wrote it and in a semi recent Vlive (webcast) he said to this day it’s still one of his favorite songs that he’s written. Also it’s still on the top 20? charts in Korea and its sooo old. It’s def the Queen song of their repertoire.

I have been waiting in line since 2015.

They have three or four in house producers Slow Rabbit, Supreme Boi and Adora (maybe Pdogg? also). Some of the producers are actually on some tracks, supreme boi is in a cypher and a track off Hopeworld (Jhops mixtape). Adora is the female singer is Suga’s “Seesaw” song. But they do write and collaborate on all their songs, that’s actually a pivotal point to why they are so famous. Bc the content of the music is so healing and they are authentic. K Pop use to have a stigma of “factory music” bc of how they produce idols (the life of a trainee is difficult, and even saying that is an understatement) and the music being a certain way (positive and cookie cutter) but bts break the mold and talk about self empowerment, mental health, youth, etc. i think it’s amazing how much credit goes to them in not only lyric writing but producing as well. RM and suga specifically do a lot of the producing/ co producing.

Seventeen and SHINee also helped break that mold as the first most popular “self-producing” idol groups, on top of Seventeen also making a majority of their own choreography! Just a fun fact. BTS did normalize it globally.

The "screamo" was linkin park. They write most of their own songs. They have a process of writing, and submitting their work to be reviewed by the company's team. Korean age.. they are one at birth and turn another year older at new year's. Yes, all members have their own solos and/or mixtapes. I tried to answer you.. I'm sure I missed some, I apologize. In an interview Suga compared their writing process as a year round song camp where they ping ideas off each other and get feedback and suggestions from their CEO. Occasionally they even have song produced by outside producers, generally they rewrite the lyrics.

Your mum calling in the middle of a recording to ask you how to unfriend somebody is the most mum thing ever lol Yup, they largely self-produce. The CEO of their company (BigHit) is a music producer. BTS was supposed to be a group of underground rappers, that's why RM and Suga joined, but the company had no funding so the CEO decided to debut a rap/hip hop oriented idol group. The "selling out" aspect against RM&Suga stems from this, bc they had the option to leave, but chose to stay with the company. Suga himself wanted more to become a producer. Although the company often works with foreign producers, they have a small group of in-house producers who have known BTS since pre-debut years, so nearly every song is a tight-knit group effort. Their CEO is also involved in the music production. He's considered an Kpop entrepreneur genius among experts for going from near bankruptcy to being a millionaire in like 6-7 years. Experts also call BTS an anomaly within Kpop, like a mutation that carries the same genes but is still different. Btw, maknae is actually pronounced "man-nae" :) Tbh, most people mispronounce it, so no biggie :D Mukbang, too, is mostly butchered XD It's meok (eo, as in Seoul) and bang (a as in AAHHH!).

J-Hope is sexy and has charisma on stage like a boss. When he is on a stage he is always in command of it no matter how big it is, his presence fills it full. He is amazing. I never understood how some people don't see it. Fools. J-Hope is beautiful to you just like that, you just got yourself +10 points in my book.👍

They are all intensely close, during their trainee days they had to share a small room between the 7 of them and they were looked down on for many reasons. They all went though so much in their lives both before and during their trainee days and even now they face many challenges. RM is constantly compared and criticized for his rap style not being "fast" but he has said that he values the meaning behind his lyrics more than how they are delivered, his IQ is 148 and uses that to make his lyrics more philosophical and deep. He and Suga are the main lyricists and composers for BTS but are occasionally provided outside help. Jin had 0 experience in anything other than acting and was put into BTS as a visual and had to work day and night hour after hour just to make himself stand out as a vocalist, Suga struggled with many challenges which caused his social phobia and depression, he is very open about it all, he even opened up about how he was hit by a car and broke his shoulder but didn't tel anyone because he feared being kicked out of Big Hit, his shoulder is still damaged to this day. J-Hope was supposed to be a vocalist but was placed in the rap line instead and learned from RM and Suga how to rap but still practiced on his own and used his dance experience to dis over his rap flow and style, he also writes his own rap verses. Before BTS he also strugled with depression but decided he wanted to be hopeful and claimed his members and fans made him that way. Jimin also had a background in hip hop but it wasn't as extensive as J-Hope, he used to be very insecure after BTS debut because people only recognized him for his ABS so h began to hate the way he looked due to the pressure but he has gotten better but still faces that challenge of self love and image. V was actually accompanying a friend to the auditions but Big Hit begged him to audition and then later kept him a secret from the public eye and wasn't included in any promotional videos or pictures until their debut performance and almost didn't make it into BTS but due to the help of the other members he was kept in the group. Jungkook was approached by many companies wanting him to be apart of their label and he chose Big Hit after seeing a performance by RM and he joined with the hopes of meeting him. Being the youngest he relied a lot on the older members and he was a big of a crier during training and J-Hope was his rock for most of it but he was also intensely shy and kept to himself until he became comfortable with everyone. His song Begin (lyrics and composition help from RM) is all about how he never really faced any hardships that brought him down until he would see his brothers (BTS) face troubles and that the pain they felt he wished he could take it from them and bare it instead. Basically BTS is a family that need each other, their fictional story line revolves around the connections between them and their personas. Sorry for the rant but these guys are just such inspirations and deserve everything they have achieved, their music transcends all barriers.

So Suga, the guy with the” lisp” he doesn’t actually have a lisp but he kinda does. What I mean is it’s not actually like a speach impediment but actually has to do with the accent from the region in Korea he’s from. Fun fact none of the members are from Seoul, the major city in Korea and one of the biggest cities in the world, literally half the people in the nation live there, but are from various other areas in korea. Korean also has dialects, not just accents, but the standard speech is what’s spoken in Seoul. So not just Suga but several members have strong accents from their regions and WAY back in the day they even wrote a song about it. It was kind of a mock fight where they bragged about their hometowns using dialects but were angry because they couldn’t understand eachother

"what's he doing with all these songs" Some become BTS songs, some go to his mixtape, others he sells to various artists, but mostly they sit on his hard drive T_T He said in a recent live that he'd love to collab with (ie sell his songs to) western artists but they like to work face to face and he can't do that bc of his schedule, he can only collab long distance.

I personally think Jimin has grown quite a bit, he doesn't seem so hard on himself anymore. Maybe I'm wrong but that's what I see from him.

Every member in BTS contributes to writing songs typically practicing with their solo songs but the three main producers for BTS songs within the group are RM, Suga, and Jhope. Jungkook has also been working on becoming a regular producer for the BTS songs. Lately he has contributed to all the chorus's and is on his way to becoming one. Aside from the members their company Bighit has their own main producers. The ceo Bang Pd, Supreme Boi (originally supposed to be a member), Slow Rabbit, Pdogg, and their only female ADORA. BTS also likes to feature many unknown producers on their tracks to help them get their name out but typically every single track will have a combination of both members and producers. RM however is on almost every song due to his lyrics and even helped write a majority of the members solos songs.

Yes they react to their own videos. The reaction clip featured in this video is their reaction to BLOOD SWEAT & TEARS. And yes, those fake “BTS reacts to...” are so freaking annoying. Re: songwriting/producing From song credits, we can see that they all contribute in varying degrees, in various combinations. They also have in-house songwriters and producers (at BigHit, the company that BTS are signed to) that work with BTS, and their company CEO is also sometimes to be found on song credits. And then they also work with outsourced international songwriters. I believe that when JK was miming the screamo it was Linkin Park? I think I saw somewhere a long time ago that he went through a Linkin Park phase, I’m not sure on that though, it’s just what I read.

One of the thing that a lot of the new people who react to them doesn't know but it shows how close they are is that as of now they still live together. They started out from a one bedroom dorm when 7 of them slept in one room in bunk beds and now they live in an expensive apartment and have their own rooms (except Jimin and J-hope, they are still roommates) but they chose to keep living together, when they had the chance to move out. They said they think it helps with their bond being so strong and would get lonely without the other members around.

Once they all joined the group they basically signed the contract and started living together. So they've been living together for a looong time, which is probably why they are so close.

Lemme just say my bias is Suga but when I went to BTS's concert I couldn't take my eyes off Hoseok. His performance is amazing.Really captivating you.

k-pop groups tend to be very close to each other as they are 24/7 together. they live together, work together, eat together, train together, travel together. and they usually have known each other for years when they debut together, a lot even went to school together during their trainee days. Many idols think of their group as people closer than their own family

Jimin has grown so much and although he’s still a perfectionist with his craft and loves what he does, he has accepted the fact that it’s natural to make mistakes and not everything can be perfect

Oh my, I wish you chose another intro guide. This one isn't done well when it comes to J-Hope, V and Jin. Hobi is my fav member so I really don't like his part. The person who made this video didn't know that j-hope has been writing/composing for BTS since their debut. Now he has 89 writing/composing credits at The Korea Music Copyright Association. He co-produced some songs, and on some songs he also has credits as Recording Engineer. So all three rappers are main writers/composers within BTS (but they work with the team of BigHit in-home writers and producers of course). You are right that Suga and Hobi were clearly fooling around with their singing. Both can sing much better, in fact j-hope is also a sub-vocalist and he sings or does rap-singing in more than 20 BTS songs, and also he does a lot of background/hidden vocals in songs harmonizing with the vocal line. Also although j-hope is the "sunshine" in the group and likes to goofing around on camera, he's much more serious, calm & level headed off camera. He's the most organized and professional within BTS. RM on many occasions said that j-hope is like a second leader in BTS For example (in boun voayage 2 Hawaii) RM to JH: "You are the most professional member in our team. You are stable. I think that's the quality an entertainer should have. I'm not sure what you think, but you play major role in building up the mood in our group. In a different way from me. To be honest on our team, you take care of stuff. I sometimes miss though I'm a leader. You are there for moral support... JH: Don't say that.... RM: I'm serious. I'm just there as a publicity". or Jungkook said: "If RM hyung is the leader of our group, Hobi hyung is someone at the center of our members' relationship. Being so tender, taking care of everything..he has a clear picture of what he wants to do and accomplishes it. Those things make me think he's really cool!" So I really hate how he's pigeonholed as one dimensional character in this intro guide. Also on a side note, j-hope was born to be on stage, imo he shines the most during concerts, he's so charismatic, confident and with amazing stage presence. To really realize how great he is, you just have to see him live performing, the BTS MVs doesn't do him justice at all.

@@TheChampOfMedium Nah, don't be sorry. This guide is definitely the most popular, so most ARMY recommend it, but that doesn't mean it's the best. It's also a bit outdated. To be honest especially the older guides (and these are the most popular) contain many errors and there are lot's of stuff omitted. I think for now it's better to focus on BTS music, MVs and live performances and maybe if you still will be interested to know more about them in the future, we'll suggest other guides :-)

at 11:03 associate KOMCA members (btw , all BTS members are) who have "engaged in substantial musical creation" are promoted to full members. But there is an error here, there are 25 members promoted EVERY YEAR, so by now there is around 1400 full members already, because KOMCA was founded in 1964.

I’ll make notes for you as I’m watching! 1. That song was Attack on Bangtan, Not Fire 2. It’s Bangtan Sonyeondan which roughly translates to bulletproof boyscouts 3. That was Joke by RM 4. Yes there is a storyline, although it’s really complicated and not 100% of it is confirmed by any means, so most of the story is ARMY theories with literal KZread channels and popular social media accounts dedicated just to Bangtan theories. 5. That lawsuit joke, you’d have to understand korean to get it the first time so I’ll insert something from the internet to help explain it [JIN: What is it called when a cow sings? JIN: Lawsuit *lawsuit in Korean is "so-song" and "so" means cow. So combine "so" and then "song" you get lawsuit. JIN: Do you know what's it called when a group of cows sing? JIN: a group lawsuit!] 6. And yeah! That’s basically what happened. Jin actually got offers from some of the top training companies but he thought they were scams and turned them down. He does state that his strong point isn’t singing, and I’m sure to him that is true! His strength is in acting. He has a masters degree in performing arts (-: Someone give this man an acting role 7. They all have at least 2 solo songs (from WINGS and Love Yourself) but most of them have solo projects and/or mixtapes as well. 8. Yoongi does have a lisp but it’s more noticeable at some points than others. 9. Yoongi has been playing piano since he was basically born just because he loved it (talks about it in his song first love about his piano) so I wouldn’t say he’s a natural, he’s just been doing it literally his whole life. 10. “It’s not gay to want to make out with him is it” LMAOOOO MOOD 11. Yes that was a real reaction 12. Jimin is so hard on himself that people suspect that he developed body dysmorphia at some point. There are videos of the other members worrying about him and asking him to eat. We think he’s getting better about this but you don’t ever know. We hope he is! He is very affectionate and sensitive towards others so people give him lots and lots of love back 13. Namjoon also has a deep voice so whoever said that is on actual crack 14. There are recordings of the Cyphers. They were put on albums and you can hear the progression of their earlier music till their later music throughout the years and how they more maturely approach haters now. 15. There’s a team of writers and producers at Bighit, but also the members partake in producing and writing, mostly RM and Suga. 16. I don’t even understand korean age but Koreans are basically already considered a year old when their born and different factors of like the Chinese New Year and all kinds of stuff that doesn’t make sense to me, so they’ll be considered 1-2 years older than their “actual” age 17. Most kpop groups are close because they train together + live in dorms together for a long time if not the whole time they’re a group together. They rely on each other. (And Also korean culture is more about community and sacrificing for others, so they don’t usually have petty drama that ends up tearing them apart like one direction or something) 18. And yes! A lot of the members are better at understanding English than they are at speaking! I know this was a lot of information but I hope I answered all your questions 💖 Thank you for thinking so positively of the boys and reacting to them!!

I can explain the singing cow puns. What is it called when a cow sings?: A lawsuit. In Korean, Lawsuit is 소송 (sosong) and Cow is 소 (so). Jin likes to make multilingual puns, so when a cow sings, a mix of Korean and English is a Cow Song/소 Song/Lawsuit. What is it called when a group of cows sing together?: A group lawsuit. Group is 단체 (sounds a little like dance) and again, Lawsuit is 소송 (sosong), so a group of cows would sing a Dance Song or Dance soSong/단체 소송/Group Lawsuit. He's actually quite brilliant and uses these goofy things to downpay it. :)

The craziest thing about BTS is that nobody know that they are gonna be this BIG. Not even the members themselves. They just did what they normally do and people felt their sincerity.

They write their own music, they don't have a song writor, member RM, Jhope and SUGA write the most, they also produce their own beats in a lot of their songs and produce some other songs with the help of a Big Hit Entertainement (their company) producers.

They're getting to know English, the probably understand because RM's probably rehearsed it. The other members try to memorise some english lines for interviews. You should check out BTS CONTRIBUTION TO MUSIC it talks about their songwriting. They do everything from creating melodies and beats and coming up with lyrics and even do choreography too.

loved hearing your thoughts! to answer your question, they do write their lyrics and they have producing credits in a bunch of their group songs! but big hit also has in-house producers (adora, pdogg, slow rabbit, hitman bang himself & supreme boi who was actually gonna be a bts member but changed his mind) that will be involved when no member had a hand in producing a track, they never really just buy a finished song from overseas producers as is very common in the idol industry (all this is where the whole "are bts idols or artists?" thing came from which they addressed in idol, because they have so much creative input which isnt "the usual") besides group albums tho, suga produced his agust d mixtape, rm produced 4 songs of his mono mixtape and jhope produced 3 tracks of his hope world mixtape. the rapline do most of the lyric writing/producing and usually RM also writes for the vocalists although those have also slowly been starting to make/write their own songs (often with RM's help). suga has also produced songs for other artists (Heize, suran, epik high) sorry that was long lmao

just saying RM has 4 co-producing credits in Mono. He's credited in "Moonchild", "BadBye", "Evrythingoes" and "Forever Rain".

Their songwriting process is a collaborative/competitive type. They all can compose/produce what they want, and they send it to the boss (who before being BH CEO was a successful composer); there's also other people who write songs for them, both in Korea and overseas. The bosses then choose whatever they think works better and give pointers, and then they all write lyrics for the songs. Today RM is the main lyricist, he wrote like 90% of the lyrics for Persona. Also each rapper writes their own verses, and the other members wrote a large portion of their solos, and have lyrics and producer credits in many songs. They also have written and composed original solo songs released on soundcloud that they made on their own or with RM's help (V's Winter Bear is the latest, at least until Jungkook uploads his first original solo). Basically, what works best stays regardless of who wrote it, but it's usually them.

All the members, write, produce, compose and fiddle around with melodies anywhere and everywhere (on planes, during concerts, at home, overseas) - then they submit it regularly to their in-house team at BIGHIT. Then the best samples are hand picked. Weaker ones are shelved for later and stronger ones are worked, and worked and worked till it's polished enough for the next album. SUGA once described it like being in a music camp that last all year-round. They have a healthy competition with each other as well as with the behind-the-scenes produces at the company (who are like their family). RM, SUGA and J-HOPE are the most active when it comes to writing and composing. But the rest of the members are involved as well. When they were kids, their CEO (MR BANG) insisted that they hone their writing and composing ability just as much as their singing, dancing and rapping. It helps that all the BTS members are crazy about music too.

Koreans are considered 1 year old at birth, and get older each new year's day (people born in the same year are grouped together - like Jimin and V being 95ers, and the closest duo in BTS). They do celebrate each individual's birth day, but you age according to your birth year. And they do write their own music. RM comes up with a great deal of their lyrics, Suga composes a great deal of their music. They do get help and suggestions from the BigHit staff, but they contribute a lot to their music. The rest of the members also have managed to write their own songs here and there, V wrote his solo song Scenery, Jungkook wrote the group song Magic Shop (a song written directly for ARMY), and all three rappers have written numerous songs (J-Hope also wrote Dionysis).

yea the connection is definitely there. they're just... very inspirational but in such a human way. their openness about their struggles and complexity and negative thoughts helps SO MUCH. but most importantly, they pour their hearts into their music and I can hear that. when I listen to their music it feels like they're talking directly to me and that's the real connection through art.

In response to your song writing question: Yes.

Some songs are created from scratch in the house. Were in house producers and composers and BTS members sends in lyrics and melodies and ideas. And then their CEO go through them all and sends most promising to all parties to work on again, then they send it again to boss. He again picks most promising pieces and then they work on arranging, recording, line distribution etc. All participate in process, but only best wins. Some songs are send from other writers, usually they take it if they like a beat or melody. They take that and few english frazes if they sound a part and rework all other lyrics. All rap parts is always written by rappers themselves. RM does a lot lyrics writing for BTS. When he talked about last album he said he was like writing machine and 90% lyrics in album was written by him alone.

Jimin is proficient in 4 different styles of martial arts and holds a black belt in taekwondo. He is a trained dancer...studied contemporary dance. Plus fabulous vocals.

RM and Fall out boy did a Champion remix, looooove that song. They mix and rotate genres a lot. Ma City has a nice rock-y vibe and Dionysus mixes Arena Metal with Hip Hop and is wild.

They are all of seven composers and songwriter and the 3 rappers are also producer. Sometimes the others produce as well but one or two songs. But they have others producer who work with them. Each time it's like a collaboration. In the credits, you will have each time the names of the rappers (RM, Suga, J-Hope) with Pddogg (he's their main producer), and sometimes Hiss Noise, Adora, SUpreme Boy and Hitman Bang (the CEO of their company). They all work together since the debut and all started from the bottom together ^^. Actually, each member will write lyrics and melody and then they will be a meeting to choose what they want to make this time. Not all their melodies and lyrics make it in the final song and album. Sometimes, they will share their demo though.

BTS writes their songs from their own experiences and feelings, there are also other fellow producers in the same agency (Big Hit) that sometimes also help them (some were in the original BTS lineup, but decided to stay in the agency as producers and not debut, however they continue to support the group). RM always has participation in the songs, that man has a poet's soul. Suga also constantly produces songs but only some are released depending on the concept of the BTS album, but sometimes he gives some song to another artist to present. J-hope, he finds it hard to find inspiration but whenever he writes he throws a work of art. Jimin, V, Jin and JK, are the ones who have less experience in writing songs, find it difficult to find inspiration and words to express what they feel, unlike the rap line that each one has released their solo album, the vocal line releases songs from time to time individually ... but also have participation in the songs they release as a group. Sometimes everyone writes what they are going to sing or rap in a song, other times they also write the parts for another member. 7 heads think better than 1 (? Hahahah It is literally a team. In short, all members of BTS write songs, either to release them alone or to include them in the group albums they release.
