For an equally heavy song, check out One by One 35xxxv tour. They all scream like madmen in that song LOL :)) one of my favorite performances right now is Can't wait (Eye of the Storm 2019-2020). It's a mid-tempo song but Taka's vocals are shivers down the spine.

No worries on the lyrics reading. This song in particular seems to be difficult to translate properly (the online translations seem overly literal.) Japanese was my first language until I learned English when I was 5 years old, but my now spotty understanding of the language (coupled with the vocabulary of a 5 year old) tells me there's a lot missing in the context of the translation. But at the end of the day, the idea of not giving up and rising up to meet the challenges you face is a consistent theme in many OOR songs. It's why OOR has become the soundtrack for my life! yeah definitely agree on the translation. I do lyrics translations sometimes and Japanese is very difficult to grasp properly. You really need a deep understanding of imagery and even if you are a native Japanese speaker, if your English is not good enough, it's almost an impossible task. and it's usually overseas fans who translate from japanese to English, with like an intermediate understanding of Japanese, which really isn't enough to translate literature. I translate from English to Hungarian and oftentimes I'm like holy smokes, what is this supposed to mean even? :D We were trying to decipher a dir en grey lyrics once, from the only English translation that existed on the internet, and we were almost crying, it was so frustrating. Japanese oftentimes leave the subject of the verb out and then try guessing who they are talking about in the lyrics. :DDD

I am glad that you discovered One OK Rock because they are an awesome band. It is great that you check out the lyrics because Taka writes most of the music and lyrics and they are always very positive. I loved their music with the Japanese lyrics but when I read the translations of the lyrics I was blown away and love the music even more. Taka had a very difficult early life and he actually left home at the age of 16 because what his parents wanted and what he wanted were not the same. It is amazing that he has turned into such a formidable front man and has propelled One OK Rock worldwide. Considering what a superstar he is, he is still humble and encourages young musicians. He is highly regarded by musicians throughout the world and has many famous friends such as Ed Sheeran.
