Mansions are huge
There is a powerful storytelling on why his father kept the box, most people believe that it was an act of pettiness but hear me out, the garbage cam was full when his father threw the box in, which means it would have taken out the next morning, that can only mean that right after Sebastian left, his father went out in the rain to grab it and brought it into his home, he brought garbage into his own house, and not only that he kept it for more than 20-40 years (idk how much time passes) and kept it in another box hidden from his family (I say this because glam sister didn't know what was on the box), taking all of this in consideration, we can only guess than in his own twisted way glam leaving them hurt him a lot, enough to bring trash into his house and keep it until the day he died

Just the Russian actor speaks with common voice as Sebastian and by he's highest by Glam. Just for us, Russian watchers, the authors (their name is Dima & Lina) are recording messages, showing failures during the serial recording, telling about plans, so I can see how it works. Is there any channel that is doing so for English guys?

this story hurt tho. glam was hurt, he dealt with so much it. then his dad tries to hurt him when he died. I hope this series goes on. abuse is still abuse, sure was I beat straight with a ruler? no but I understand having to chose the good friends over the bad family. it makes me cry a bit.glam cares about his family, and he's going to care for his kids. he won't let them hurt the way he will. will mistakes happen sure, but he won't cause them pain. not on purpose. I think something about the whole baseball bat segment gets to me because at some point it's not about protection it's about vengeance. but you can't get revenge, you just have to accept you where hurt, and they won't apologize. distance and time is a strong first step.

Not exactly. I mean… yes, but this scene is a bit deeper. You see… Gustav wasn’t scared of Glam probably wanna kill him. Even when he found out his notes about biting him up Gustav was just angry, not scared. So what really made him fear is the fact how terribly similar Glam was to his grandfather at this moment. At the background behind Gustav you can see a portrait of man with the same crazy smile. So probably Glams grandpa and Gustavs father was even more evil monster so even a shadow of him at Glams face managed to scare Gustav for a moment…
No wonder Glam has a constant Fearless smile. After the literal hell hole he crawled out of, there's simply nothing on this planet that could possibly scare him.

What I noticed is that although Glam got through his past and basically formed a new identity, he still holds some of the traits of the rich family. He speaks a bit more formally, is generally well-behaved, even the way he places his keys on the keyholder in the opening. It's well-mannered and calm, especially compared to the kids who both throw their keys and Vikky who punches them on it.
Glam slowly turning crazy just shows how terrifyingly strict his parents are. Trauma builds up and then turned glam to the person he is now
In the russian version he actually says "i chose a family. Unlike you." Which I find also a very good ending, but I was surprised to hear another equally good version in English.

Glam: *suddenly is no longer Sebastian and randomly becomes GLAM* Me: whelp hes corrupted
metal family is such a masterpiece. at first, it just seems like a series about this random family but it goes so much deeper as you realize the backstory of the happiest character. the rain scene during glams past is for some reason ignored despite the fact it is such an important scene. "my name is glam." is easily the best line in the entire show. it shows that glam has truly decided on this and he isnt changing his mind, the blue flicker in his eyes even disappearing which may show that he is no longer struggling to balance both lives- family and the rebel.

This puts the first episode into context. This is why he is so protective and supportive of his kids. Plus this also why it would appear he was crazy when it xae to dean wanting to learn how tot playbthe guitar. This series is awesome 🎉
Everyone talked about how "If this this didn't happen then Glam wouldn't have snapped" I get that y'all mean he wouldn't have yelled at his father or killed himself but at the same time you don't get it, Glam had already snapped the moment he heard Chive's song (I don't remember his name haha) but he had already snapped far before that, when he felt finally happy his mind was already snapped far beyond repair, and by this I don't mean he went insane in the way he needs a stray jack I just mean he broke far enough to break from some of his fathers grasp, to gain freedom even still with the memories and scars that are still left behind on the current Glam

15:55 "G- go to your room.. now." I don't know why but for reason that scene was so beautifully written and acted out, you can see his father's thoughts throughout his expressions, like did I finally break my son? Is he going to harm me now? Only to feel relief followed by regret after he returns the ruler back to him. This is so charming to see the father- although only for a short time, reconsider his actions and actually go to church with his wife. I wish his father would've kept this mindset. He(father) must have retrieved it on the day itself because it was already in the trash. The decision was made then. It couldn't have been regret since he was angry that day, so it must be conviction to shame Glam. And it lasted his entire lifetime. What a horrible person. Also, to give it to Glam as inheritance is an absolute low. It's a reminder to his son that he(the son) "chose the slums" and that the broken artifact(trash in the father's opinion) will always be what he(the son) amounted to in his(the father) heart.

The father was an abusive man, sick in the head, and twisted. He obviously didn't love his son truly. But he cared a deal enough to try and make him "perfect" a characteristics on abusive people who want to gain success through there children, this is further shown when he talks about if glem was trying to "shame him" through his actions, while beating him. Please don't confuse I have 0 sympathy for the father. His first tried to control glem through abuse, that failed so glem had a secret life, when caught he tried forcing him back by giving him an ultimatum. That failed so his father then responded with yelling and public rejection. I think in some twisted way he had some "care" of sorts that losing him obviously took over his inter life. After all if you didn't care you wouldn't really care for pety revenge. But he took that box back, to shove it in glems face if he ever returned. Knowing he would go to the funeral if summoned. He had the box put in the will as a final you chose the rubble. And probably also to add "you left me so I reject you" which is funny because the son moved on, but he couldn't. Hatred is a cage that only cages yourself. But I think it's sad his father was so twisted. That he couldn't fix himself to being a better person. Monsters aren't all born, there usually made. He let his pride and reputation or honor, control his life. Nothing was more important to him. His son was to be the chosen one among musicians to give him the honor of fathering "that" of course no one is perfect. His son found a way out of this abusive and horrible expectations. I can't even fit everything wrong with it in here. But I feel like I think I captured the soul of the point. His father was a bad man, who in some super twisted way, cared enough to be petty enough to hold onto that for years. Maybe in the deepest darkest part of his heart he held some regret, "maybe". But his pride, was too big that it didn't matter. Glem was better off without him, I only feel bad for his sister who get left behind with that monster.
He didn't choose against family. He chose to leave an abusive home. He realized that things weren't going to get better unless he left and his father's manipulation and threats and gaslighting weren't going to work on him anymore. He ended up with a happy loving family and was a loving supportive nurturing father despite his flaws. He actually treated his kids like human beings and not just people to train to make him look good and take his anger and frustration on. I pity his sister for continuing to endure the abuse. Perhaps she even felt abandoned by him, but it was something he couldn't save her from, only himself and he was lucky he had the opportunity to finally leave and escape.
It’s amazing how Chet saved Glam from the life he was stuck in. He introduced him to rock, he gave him the freedom and friendship he never had.

23:47 what I like about this scene is that even though Victoria probably doesn’t know the full context of that box, she sees Glam is visibly upset and comforts him, somewhat. That’s a sign of love that is really overlooked and underplayed. Sidenote, if glam ever does tell her about his father and what he did, all hell is gonna break loose and it will be glorious to witness! I hope they piss on his father’s headstone. P.s. idc what her friends say, Victoria was working that “Jessica rabbit dress”.
The emotion in the animation! The subtleties in the expressions n postures! There’s so much heart and soul! The characters and their complexities! The MUSIC! It’s beautiful.

She has no right to hate Glam for leaving. She was partaking in the abuse he was receiving from his father so that she wouldn't be in the same place as him. When he left all the pressure probably fell on Lydia's shoulders but she could leave like her brother did. Because Glam got to live as he wanted; he became a musician, he fell in love, made a family. He was happy. Lydia is more likely miserable; thinking her father's inheritance will fill the hole she has. I feel sorry for her though. No one deserves to live like this.🙁

His eldest son has no talent for music, and whilst he echoed his father, he did his all not to repeat it, he tried to show and teach as best he could. However, I was kinda surprised that they decided to translate the word "хлам" (garbage) as "rabble", not as garbage/trash/etc. Although, having translated "rabble" in Google Translator, I realised that it wasn't related to trash, but it actually meant "lower class". Basically, Gustav has called Chive and other friends of Glam peasants, emphasising on elitism of their family and their surroundings. Hits kinda differently now. I'm pretty positive he suffered a psychotic break, Glam is the part of him that feels joy ,freedom and enjoys himself while masking the anger, lonelyness and fury that is Sébastien. His smile and voice change definitely are strong keys of a split personality. Even though Sebastian had a psychological break and created Glam to cope, Sebastian was seemingly in control of the body 50% of the time or more. Particularly in moments of pain and distress he reverts back to Sebastian. (Usually around his dad.) Once Sebastian leaves his father permanently he becomes Glam full-time. Ironically, it seems his original personality was actually the coping mechanism the whole time; his ridged worldview and perfectionism a coping mechanism for the abuse that was a constant through his entire life. Once he lost the abusive parent in his life, he lost his coping mechanism: Sebastian.
