Every time i watch and listen to this i want to cry. In a way i can relate to Glam. It was not with my father but.. i do know what it feels like to live with an abusive person. And the loss of a sense of freedom. This song and glams story has helped me alot lately. Its never too late to pick yourself back up and start anew

I had an abusive father from the ages of 6 to 8 going on 9 at the end of the year, he was abusive in all ways physical, verbal, and sexual, it only ended because he was arrested for child pornography, had the cops never found out, it would’ve went on a lot longer, my mind blocked out most of it, it only kept bits and pieces of the sexual and verbal abuse, I don’t remember any of the physical, I only know about it because my mom mentioned it, she still blames herself for it even though me and my siblings tell her that it’s not her fault because he was a really good liar and manipulator, I dealt with the trauma to the point of it controlling me for almost 9 years until I finally said enough is enough and brought myself back up again, that’s when I started finding myself through fashion and music, it then led me to find out my true sexuality that I repressed for almost 3 years, and learning to love myself again, you’re not alone, a lot of people can relate to gland story in one way or another

I somewhat had abusive father but mostly it was my aunt and my stepmother they hit me for reasons and even stupid reasons they lied to me about what my mom did and everything they killed my 2 cats they were my best friends they took away my internet privileges and almost everything I cried everynight and wishing my mom would take me back home and sleep peacefully I never took my friends over at my place because I don't want them to feel uncomfortable because there would be drugs and bottles everywhere I don't want them to see it I rarely get sleep because they mostly keep me up all night I wanted to learn how to play a guitar and start my career with it but they rejected my dreams they wanted me to have a business job or something like that so I never played guitar or touch it or anything one day when i got into middle school in 6th grade my mom picked me up I was so happy because I missed being in her arms it was a long time since I had a hug so it tear me up and then I figure it out that my dad lied to me saying that she passed but I never believed that after that I went back home with her now I finally have a good home with someone that cares for me and gives me hugs I even now have a guitar I'm in a band and I have really good friends I love my mom so much idk how to repay her

There’s just some people who don’t deserve to be parents or family members if that’s how they treat their loved ones there’s a special place in hell for people like that I’m sorry for what you guys had to go through

i had an physically, sexually and in every other way abusive father from birth till 13 and emotional abuse from my birthmother till now and im living in a hostel after moving out of care due to me not being able to live with the abuse. and this show makes me cry so hard everything is so relatable the routines and things glam does its all so similar. truly a bueatiful show. metal saved my life

@@thenighttimesystem4497 metal for life because it saved me because I always feel down and whenever me and my dad fought he would always win and I get so mad that i want to end him but i did not want to go to jail and one day when I lost in a fight to him I was soo mad that I wanted to drink and smoke as a kid but then I said "I promise I won't smoke and drink" so I put a cigarette down and throw the bottle outside and then I was on youtube I saw a music video called never too late by three days grace I listen to it and when I hear the lyrics I cried so much I was suicidal but when I listened to that song it was telling me not to give up and then I started listening to other bands and got into heavy metal they save my life i was gonna end it but metal saved me. I wish my thanks for metal for saving me. I'm sorry that you had to go through that

When Glam played the guitar and there was flashbacks of his father hurting him, everyone I was watching metal family with “my siblings” we all broke down crying..he put his pain into music. I’m happy he found his happiness.

0:13 and 2:30 never failed to give me chills 😭❤️. The way the guitar was played was impactful making me see and feel how glam healed from all of the abuse he had experienced... Once he got healed, i felt the healing too... 😩❤️

I’m personally not much of a rock fan, but there’s something about this song and Glam as a person I can relate to. Growing up in a strict and restrictive family, never really get out to hangout with friends like an actual kid before. And when I finally do, I feel so.. happy and free all of the sudden. I feel like I’ve been missing out my whole life. I didn’t really have the guts to do much stuff since I’m usually told that doing those types of things aren’t “appropriate.”

Love the tempo and lyrics! Such a good song

I think one of my favorite parts of this scene is when Chive pointed out another piece of trash for Glam to add to his city diorama project. It speaks volumes of their friendship that Glam trusted Chive enough to let him in on that very personal part of his life, and it makes me want more episodes with Chive and Glam alone and exploring their relationship.

I remember a time in my life where I felt completely unlovable, that I’d never be worth anything to anyone. But I learned to love myself, and I started working out, and I found myself smiling all the time despite all the negativity around me. This video reminds me of that. Reminds me how truly happy I was, even if it was for a short time.

I relate to Glam so much. I’m 17 about to graduate high school I get good grades, I don’t do drugs, alcohol or smoke. I’m a good kid and my mom doesn’t let me go anywhere. She says I have to stay home while I got to a four year university in person. I’m also a huge metal fan and want to make it one day as an artist, actor or writer or musician but my family rather have me be a doctor or a lawyer. Like I don’t want to be that.

@@Avatarlifeplays yeah I hope so too, they also do want me to stay in my cramped bedroom while I attend college everyday which is alot of commuting everyday. She says she doesn't trust "people " she says i don't need to be on campus to meet people but says I can't go to alot of events. Like that's the main part of college I look forward to experiencing. My mom rather have me study at home if i do something she doesn't "approve of ".

I did smoke and occasionally drink a beer or two. My parents never forbade me my music, but they had their issues with my styke in terms of hair and clothing - I'm 47 now, and from school to today - with the exception of my military service and apprenticeship - always had long hair. The clothes didn't change during off hours. I was told, when I reach their age, I'll ditch metal and listen to heir music ... Now I AM that age, and I still listen to metal (and a lot of other music, just not theirs). When I was your age, I wanted to learn bass, no dice with my dad and later it just never happened. But working as a translator, I am sort of an artist, I write stuff, I have a lot of artistic hobbies. TLDR: Try both, it'a always good to have something to fall back onto, if the artist thing isn't working out. The rest, your mom sounds like a weirdo christian - no offence, just stating what it sounds like.
