Metal Earth R2-D2 and C-3PO

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

I continue the Metal Earth Star Wars series with R2-D2 and C-3PO. This piece ended up being quite easy and would make for a great beginner model! Join me as I build the most famous droids in the galaxy!

You make it look so easy. I literally broke 1 piece and sliced a gash in my index finger trying to separate a button from the plate. I guess some hobbies aren’t for everyone.

Thank you! Also, oh dear! I hope that cut didn’t leave any permanent marks. You should always use snips to cut the pieces from the sheet. As for breaking a piece, I’ve broken more than my fair share. It just takes patience and practice. I’m sure you’ll get there if you stick with it!

What the hell... I just found out about these at hobby lobby today and decided to pick up an easy one to try it out (F22 Raptor). They are amazing but so hard to pull off, I don't know how you do it. Mine looked like the plane crashed and burned

Some can be absolute nightmares but with a bit of patience and practice you can get some beautiful display pieces. I'm sure you can do it! I hope you stick with it and wish you the best of luck! The F22 Raptor sounds like a cool thing to have sitting on a shelf too! I'll keep it in mind once I finish the series I'm currently building.

@@thehobbyistgeek6566 I'll give it another try or 2 or 3 or get hooked, who knows? I just can't believe I haven't heard or seen these. I told my step dad about it today and he said oh I remember trying one of those when your brother was a kid... He's around 30 now, lol

@@AmbiguousArtist Yeah, they've been around for a while now. Fascinations (Metal Earth) does have the difficulty of a piece listed on their website. Looks like the Raptor was a "moderate" difficulty. Maybe try a couple "easy" ones to see if you can get the hang of them. Looks like the Supermarine Spitfire and the Mustang P-51 are both listed as "Easy." Mu Models also has some great pieces. A bit more expensive but the difference in detail and size is astounding. You can check out some of my Mu Model videos to see the quality of their pieces though I've mostly done their Transformers or Fairy series. They also list difficulty in a scale of 1-10. I'm not sure how they come up with it though as I've found some level 6 pieces far more difficult than some level 8s.

I just uploaded the Metal Earth F-22 Raptor video. It's more instructional as opposed to build and review. If you're still interested in it you can take a look at kzread.info/dash/bejne/ppd3ztKzk7SqgqQ.html

Do you have any videos showing how you cut the pieces away from the sheets though ruining the whole thing? 🫣 I can’t cut mine away for the life of me

I don't. It would appear no one does based on a quick Google search. Maybe that's something I can do for my next tutorial video.
