Metal Detecting An Old 1700's Log Cabin By The Ford
Ойын-сауық
Metal detecting an old 1700's era log cabin by the ford you say? Yer darn tootin'! This was a fun outdoor metal detecting adventure. We have a lot of laughs, make some great finds and I get to see what it is like to detect with someone who is as forgetful as I am...sometimes.

Chiggs Army Activate! Todd is hilarious, and I'm totally doing that everytime I wear my Chiggs Army hat!!😂😂😎
Wow! I haven’t seen those punch marks on those oil cans in years. Over 40 years for sure. They were made with the old oil can pour spouts.

Nice finds as usual love the channel love watching you and Todd happy thanksgiving to everyone
They are all great. Thank you Sir.
I love you guys. Thank you Chigger for introducing Todd's channel. I watch alot. Especially when you're together! Great friends and chemistry! You both taught me a lot about my detector enough so I can use it. Keep it up guys!
I really enjoyed this video, 26:01 looked like rings from a tarp? I always look forward to seeing your videos. Thank you for taking us along Sir!
The little round do-dads at about 25:56 look like finish washers. Handy little item used to prevent screw heads from pulling through material or holding fabric in place.
😃 You are right, each "adventure" video is awesome. I have to thank you for making these videos and sharing your hunts or the nature or history around you. Even if it's an underwater sunglasses dive, you still manage to find a crawdad or a turtle, or *something* interesting besides the occasional iPhone or whatever. I really love your vids. 😊 Thank you... I'm locked up in this nursing facility 😒 hoping I'll someday get away from this Covid stuff that is destroying lives all over the world. Your videos help me cope. I hope you and yours and ALL of ours remain safe and stay healthy. 😏 💕 😺 Here's to the next adventure! 🐾 😸
Thanks for bringing us along! All the best from middle Tennessee.. Be safe..
Beautiful old house. Thanks for sharing with us.
I guess you and Todd need a underway check LIST before you leave home. I'm in that age group!😜😂🤣

Man I love watching your adventures. I finally am able to comment thanks to my daughter Sarah who is a whiz on the tech stuff. Been watching for as long as I have been metal detecting which has only been a couple of years. Keep it and I'll be watching.
Always fun watching u hunt for history
Beautiful scenery
Thanks for putting us “to sleep.” I am exhausted tonight. 🥱 Gosh...I have forgotten my earphones once...so I know how Todd feels about forgetting his shovel. 😉 Boy, the wind is playing havoc there on youse guys. Eh? 😜 And yes....your videos are always awesome. 😁
Both me and my 3 year old love your channel chigg
Hey man thank you for the video and yes I will see you on the next video
When I was younger we had detectors and would find buttons lots of them and you know Beau kids get bored and tin snips left and right ones can make Angel winged buttons seen them made so we try to make em it would take about one or two try's that's what I thinks that button looks like been attempt to produce there Thank's!!!; )

I've gone digging a few times and forgot and left my shovel at home. Talk about being pissed! Thankfully Todd lives close by.
at minutes 26, that doo-dad is what we use with screws when building kitchen cabinets and/or other office wooden furniture..

You are right, I call them finish washers. When I dig em it's, "Whoa, big silver!" Oh well...
Awesome place to detect guys. Beautiful place to spend the day looking for buried treasures/relics. You guys found some interesting finds as well. Not a bag full of gold an silver coins but still a great day to be out detecting on the old home site. Seems like there would have been more old relics around that old site. We just never know till we get out an search it over. Great video chigg. As always safe an happy hunting/digging. Catch you guys on your next exciting adventure. 😁👍👍
Wow! I cant believe how much stuff you guys pulled out of the ground here. Cool
I have a sign on my door telling myself not to forget the shovels. Nice lil hunt with a couple of relics. HH and be well

First time here, but have watched Todd , and you on his site. I enjoy you both, and have subscribed to yours also.
your doo-dads appear to be the knobs to oil lamps i have found a few that look similar and have writing on them and that's what I came up with from the research I did , and Awesome videos by the way your videos have helped me construct how i make my videos , it seems to be more sought after content when it provides information to people and HH 👍👍
Ask Tod about the scary swing and the worshippers:) Rik
I remember watching curse of oak island on tv years ago and i was so bummed when the season was over and i was like, “what am i gonna do without treasure hunting in my life until next season premiers!?” So i searched treasure hunting on youtube and your river treasure videos came up and i was like eh ill give it a try. Then i saw you find other stuff like civil war bullets and was like well damn, this is almost as good as treasure hunting on oak island. Then i was hooked and a chiggs army member ever since. Years later here we are. Interesting little anecdote. I also find it funny that they pull in mr. british gary dreyton to dig on oak island on american tv (love the guy) and then you get sent over to the uk to dig on a british tv show. Haha. Bring the chigg to oak island!
Great video Mr Chigg ‘ but can we take a minute to appreciate the welding that Chigg done on his spade its good now for many more years to come 👍👍
Button was double hit from a mower ,maybe.
At 25:55 is a finishing washer or decorative washer.
At around 26:... it looks like a grommet for wood screw used in decorations on furniture. Great video's Chigg. I haven't taken up metal detecting yet, but I have done some magnet fishing. Nothing much, but spark plugs and fish hooks!!! Maybe the button with the cuts on it was hit by a lawnmower??
That's a first I've seen a button cut like that? One for the collection! Still some nice relics Guys👍
You guys have terrible wind, and you can't blame Todd for all that noisy wind
A few names for Todd's truck, The Todd Rod, or The Appalachian Mystery Machine? Thanks for another awesome vid!
In order to subscribe I had to do it on my phone. I watch you daily on my smart TV because it’s nice to see a decent screen. Unfortunately on my smart TV I can’t subscribe or ring the bell also no notification at the bottom as they say. I have a cheap detector but I’m 75 and not in very good condition after numerous hips and a knee replacement. Can’t bend. Really enjoy your shows and the way you are one with your viewers. Thanks for all your information and hopefully I can get out before too long. I’m in Owen Sound Ontario Canada.
Mr. Todd, as well as Chigg, just like me.... we have good memories, they’re just short.
Glad too see you resisted the urge to sharpen and fall on that knife shaped object. There will better days.. gold coins and Moar. 👍
Hey Chigg.....awesome video as always. This weekend I met up with some of the people that watch my videos and did some chatting. The one guy I met up with does detecting as well and we talked about your channel......see that? You are bringing people together lol
At the 26:00 mark the item dug appears to be a washer used with a screw with a countersunk head. Sometimes used to give a "finished" look to shelves or "knick-knacks".

17:03, Chigg starts talking about "Old Hoes"😉😁
CHIGG WE LIKE WHAT I SEE HEART JUMPED WHEN THE SQUARE PIECE CAME OUT BUT JUST KEEP TRYING THANK TO TODD AND YOURSELF CHEERS .
The cut button looks like they were trying to mount something on it, perhaps a GOLD coin! lol, but really a crude mount was my first thought.
Altered button maybe a homemade clasp of sorts. Kind of like those ace bandage clasps
The button possibly could have been snagged in something slamming closed, or hit by a mower? That's a tough one for sure.
It's like KZread.....half the time the notification "Bell" does not ding-a-ling....! The SOB doesn't even light up...!
I believe that the do dad that you found is a button of of a tarp
Nice house, I'd live there.

is that fjord?, hey chigg !
Sportbike and square body Chevy truck. I'd say the homeowner is probably a cool guy.

Hey Chigg! I have been watching you for years and I love your videos. I have a question, I'm not trying to be morbid but, have you gotten a signal on your medal detector and found it to be a really old grave. With a body in it. From the 1800's or 1700's?
SKUNKED
hey my new Chiggs Army hat has brought me nothing but good luck....well...not quite large aluminium lid good luck...but good luck just the same...thanks for that.
Beau, What you might say is "Could be filled with pop tops tin cans ,nails and other assorted metal junk". Lower our expectations so that when you do find the gold, silver historical treasures, it will be that much more exciting! What do you think? 😁😒 Cheers, Rik
Those look like boot rivets. Right before you found the ring or corset rivets. 🙂
Wow that’s cool I live in wv
Hey Chigg, I know exactly were you are, not going to tell but I have a lot of relatives there. The shooting in the back ground, could be someone sighting in their rifles for deer season. If you continue to be out and about, you might ought to wear a orange hat or vest, just to be on the safe side. My wife and I fished there a lot, all the way into Romney on the South Branch of the Potomac! Beautiful country up there, a lot of history on up north. Also I had the lower lobe of my lung removed last Thursday, it is cancer. I'll find out what stage the 14th of Dec. It was a non-small cell. Anyone see this, I'm asking for your prayers, I would love to be back out there, metal detecting again. God Bless, (Glen).
14:54 Maybe a kind of growth aid for young trees. Is wrapped around the trunk. Best for you .. Grandy
I found a flat button that had the sides notched/cut just like the one you found, did you ever figure out why they would cut them?

I am curious about something, you find a lot of half pieces of horse shoes in these videos. I have seen videos with oxen shoes that are actually two pieces much like you find, an oxen has split hoof, is that maybe what you are finding. Just a thought.
A once trashy yard that got cleaned up and a face lift.
I've never seen anyone dig a head gasket. Still cool though.

Gosh I want to metal dectect on my family's land, old NZ war sites between the Europeans and Māori
I knew Todd would be there you two are the best
They did that to the button because the buttonhole was fraid
Oh Chigg, no videos are better than your videos.
For every single "treasure" one must dig 5 pounds of trash. It's a unwritten rule of metal detecting, lol. Fun stuff as always. "Dirty hands are happy hands" ✌
What a nice looking well kept property Chigg. Looks like you got some nice buttons, if not a lot else. Did you get hit with the curse of the pull tabs?! ARGH!!! Those folks sure must have liked their beer back in the day. At least you had a nice time and good company, but don't tell me your forgetfulness is rubbing off on Todd?! ...ha ha ha... At least he didn't lose anything this time, so that is a plus. You guys are a hoot! Have a great day and try not to forget your garret carrot next time...maybe you should both have a check list?! : - )

The Old English letter ð, which came to be written like a curly-tailed y and later mistakenly written as y, is actually pronounced as a voiced th. So it's The Old Log Cabin.

So it's Ye old Log Cabin but the "Ye" is pronounced "the". Is that it? My family was looking for Jarjeau France which is the old English way of spelling. Don't know how many years they lost until someone pointed out it was Gargeau.
