Thanks. It was fun. I was definitely thinking it was going to be an older coin because it is an old CW site. I thought for sure CW period. I too was shocked that it was a 1905 V nickel. As always Thanks for watching and commenting. JP

For new comers me and my fiance are going to start doing this. Beginner to the hobby but this will be one of many hobbies we have. Just one question. What is the triangle thing?

Real world Cichlids and more hello and welcome to the metal detecting world. You will get hooked and be out doing it all the time. The triangle is to a civil war soldiers pack pack. The back back has another hook that connects into the triangle. Pretty cool find. Thanks for watching and for the question. Good luck and God Bless. JP

Wasn’t John’s property you were on….you were on the farm next to John’s house….been detecting that area for 20 years….that wasn’t much for 4 hours of work there for three guys….sure hope you had permission from the old owner…..

It was a hard hot day of detecting several years ago. We had permission from John to detect his house but we also had permission for the adjoining farm from the old farm owner as well. RIP!!!! God Bless.

I found an ornate spur near Gettysburg 3 years ago. I’m thinking it’s Confederate. Does any of your folk know confederate spurs? I can send a pic if PM’d. I know Union spurs are just knubs.
