The thing about the production is that none of those beats were made for Wayne they were from the most popular songs on the radio and he just snatched the beats and rapped over them making the song more memorable a lot of the time than the original itself

On the vast majority of Wayne’s mixtapes he uses other people’s beats and raps over them. He does the same on Da Drought 3. He takes the most popular songs of the time and just raps over their beats. If you want Wayne beats, you’ll have to listen to his albums (suggest Tha Carter 1-3).

I get like that with all different kinds of music. In 09 I was 36 living in the JC Salvation Army right outside the Holland Tunnel that connects NYC and JC New Jersey “found “a nice MP3 player and this kid (19 years old) said he’d download some music on it for me I said I like hip hop a lot so some PE, Wu,Beatnuts, Black Moon etc … He goes “hmmm ok “ 2 days later he gave it back and that night I was heading to Hoboken for n AA meeting and soon as I started walking I hit PLAY. I was so fkd up. Never heard of the artist I’m listening to. I’m hoping meeting ends so I can listen to this guy again I started listening to hip hop in 1983at the age of 11. Would record over cheap $1 bin Christmas tapes by putting tape over the holes First favorite song was “The Show “ by Slick Rick and Dougie Fresh. Was in a breakdancing crew n all that shit Met the real Roxanne Saw Onyx at the limelight Hip hop shaped my life in some aspects Especially when I was skating brooklyn banks with the zoo york crew Especially Harold Hunter (PBUH) However when I wasn’t skating or running into Bobito from the Stretch Armstrong show …. I was probably at a Grateful Dead show Did the 93’ summer tour. Yup official dead head . Jerry Garcia , when he goes in on a lead … the melodious sound does something to my heart….that only Lil Wayne can reach because his fkn word play is so so fkn sick. I’ve been listening to hop hop for 40 years. FOURTY FKN YEARS !!!!! I know my shit. And Weezy is in a class by himself. Do think so? Just give his mixed tapes a try. If you get confused….listen to the music play!

If you loved this you'll love Dedication 2 mixtape by Wayne. Fun fact for you, Wayne doesn't write any of his songs, he freestyles them all in the booth. He hasn't written any since back in like 2001, which was a song called 10,000 bars, where he rapped the last of all his written verses. Since then he's freestyled. Love your videos man! 🤟

lil wayne is both. he has bars that are all up in ya face then also has hidden bars and the hidden bars are more often than not INSANELY smart and that’s why they’re hidden. it’s the shit that goes over ya head for like a decade then you finally catch it and be like “OH SHIT”.

Seems like you're listening to a bad version on youtube. The real versions are not up amd down as far as sound goes. You have to listen to each song individually and hopefully you can find good copies like that. Seems like the person who uploaded it didnt want to get copyrighted so he kinda made the music go in and out
