    Started taking my master's in nutrition. My prof went through glycolysis, glycogenolysis, glycogenesis, gluconeogenesis, and the pentose phosphate pathway in 4 classes. Thank you for clarifying everything and explaining how the different pathways are inter-related (the most difficult part in my opinion). You're a biochem ninja!

    In scenario 3 can I make use of xylulose-5-phosphate instead of R5P since R5P is not needed

    Thank you very much for this video as well as other subsequent videos you have on biochemistry and physiology, they have been really helpful Please I have a question to ask on this one, the NADPH being produced does it eventually be enters into the electron transport chain like the NADH in glycolysis or rather does it produce ATP?

    Thank you so much for all your fantastic videos! In this one I would just like to mention that when H2O2 is conwerted to H2O and 1/2 O2 by catalase, it doesn't involve reduction (as you said, H2O2 -> H2O + 1/2O2). Glutathione peroxydase acts through reduction of H2O2, which turns it into water, but there is no O2 in products (H2O2 + 2 G-SH -> 2H2O + G-S-S-G)
