Metabo KS 216 M Mitre Saw Calibrated!

Ғылым және технология

In this video I show how I calibrated my Metabo KS 216 M mitre saw.
The Metabo entry model MT 216 M is a well priced miter circular saw that I found produce reasonable result for its price. It can do square cuts as well as up to 45 degree mitre and bevel cuts. My saw did NOT come well calibrated from the factory. So I had to adjust it - as I will show you now how I did.
On the Metabo KS 216 M there are basically four adjustment you can do.
One) Adjust the fence to be 90 degrees to the cut line - of the saw.
Two) Adjust the vertical end stop to make the cut surface square - to the horizontal plane.
Three) Adjust the 45 degree bevel end stop to make 45 degree bevel cuts.
And Four) Adjust the mitre angle indicator to show the correct mitre cut angle.
Note: I found no way to actualy adjust the mitre locking positions on the saw. If you have any idea on how to do this - please let us now in the comments below.
Please note this saw bends a little if you press to hard on the handle. But if you use a gentle hand you can make reasonably accurate square, miter and bevel cuts with the Metabo KS 216 M mitre saw!

*Remember that this saw needs to have adjustments made to make 0 or 90 cuts accurately **MyBest.Tools** I had to use a right angle on the deck and blade and then adjust the bolt to get the correct reading. Once this is done, it works great.*

The mitre locking position system is a bearing that is pushed into a metal plate's hole, you can find the mitre locking position at your right under neigh the mitre base / table. You'll probably have to flip your saw upside down to gain proper access for adjusting.

Superb quality throughout, easy to assemble. I found the saw to be highly accurate and a delight to use (I am a homeowner using this saw for various projects). I attached the saw to a folding mobile stand to save space and that works great kzread.infoUgkxPeGkHOMe05FySypTOvYumxMn-xi39oRe as well. However, you have to be sure the saw is securely locking in position before collapsing the stand. I've had many of the brands over the years and have come to point where I only buy Bosch, the extra money is a small price to pay for the quality and ease of use. Treat yourself to the best.

Tack för väldigt bra instruktioner, en sak jag funderar på är hur man ska kalibrera lasern. Köpte sågen + bord för ett par dagar sedan och har provsågat, men anar att även lasern behöver justeras. Frågan är bara hur? Söker vidare.

i would like to buy one of these to cut frames baguettes for paintings at a 45 degree angle so that i can join them and make a rectangular frames (for paintings of course). my frame baguettes are already painted and have different profiles, does it splinter the wood at the cut much? also, would you recommend this tool for this purpose? thank you

Thanks for reaching out! I can't give a definite answer as I have not used it for such fine precision work. I can speculate though, based on my experience with the saw. First, for your needs, you want the 45 degree cut to really be a good 45 degree which is not guaranteed on this saw. If 45 degrees are all you want you can of course adjust the fence to make the 45 degree cuts accurate. Second, the saw has no zero clearance insert so tear out is quite likely. You can easily make your own zero clearance insert of course. Thirdly - the blade the saw comes with is probably to crude for your delicate cuts so you may need to buy a better (more and finer teethed) blade. Sorry - these are my worries but you may also find the saw works just fine for your work. So delve on my concerns and then decide how to proceed :). I wish you good luck with finding a saw that helps you with the work you need to get done :)
