I live in a part of south London where there are no pro-Hamas marches, no foreign terrorist flags or intimidation of bystanders. I have no desire to chance my safety by visiting London attractions on a Saturday as I am not confident that the Met would protect me, even as a Christian.

These protesters should be forced to pay for the policing before they go ahead. It shouldn’t be down to the taxpayers to pay for them. The should also have to put a fund in with the local councils to cover the cost of lose of business and any damage they do. Plus who gave the go ahead for these protests to go ahead? Protest marches should only be allowed in the UK, where the protesters feel aggrieved about events that are happening in the UK except in the event of our armed forces being involved overseas. Those who feel aggrieved about, say the situation in Gaza, are perfectly free to take themselves off there and protest until they have brought the situation to a satisfactory conclusion. At the moment, they are just abusing the reasonable system we have in the UK and causing a public nuisance.

I clearly recall being on the anti Iraq demo against Blairs phoney invasion over oil,all those years ago,and being very struck by the fact there seemed to be a massive majority of white people,and absence of "middle eastern"looking types.But then again,that would have been before the massive invasion of our shores had properly geared up.

The government & police should have clamped down on these marches when they first started now they have gone on so long & many troublemakers have joined the marches its nearly impossible to stop them without a lot of violence from the " peaceful protesters".
