This video presents the nine bells a#0 c#1 -d#1 -f#1 -g#1 -a#1 -h1 -c#2 -d2 [la#2 -do#3 -re#3 -fa#3 -sol#3 -la#3 si3 -do#4 -re4] of St. Martin church in Messkirch. Four historical bells are combined with five modern bells to one of the biggest peals far around.
➥ The oldest bell in Meßkirch is also the smallest [9] of today's peal. It was cast around the year 1300 by an unknown master, presumably in Rottweil.
In 1492 it was given a large sister. The Biberach foundry under Jakob Folmer cast the current bell [4] in a particularly heavy shape.
The "Osanna" [7], cast in 1504 by the bell founder Oberacer from Constance, is only a few years younger.
The last of the historic bells is the largest surviving historic bell [2], cast in 1593 by Hans Frey in Kempten.
This historical ensemble is extremely interesting. These historic bells were created by bell founders who were particularly important in southern Germany at the time. To this day, they ring out in a huge, baroque belfry, which dates back to the time when the tower was raised in the 18th century.
Further bells from the historicism period were lost during the First and especially the Second World War.
After the Second World War, Meßkirch finally received new bells. Friedrich Wilhelm Schilling in Heidelberg cast the bells [1+3+5] in a middle shape in 1950. The last new bells [6+8] were added in 1995. The Andris bell foundry in Karlsruhe cast the new bells in a very heavy shape.
The ringing is a powerful song of all the bells. The sound is very dense, as the now nine bells are almost completely in the same octave range. Unfortunately, the large bells are not able to fully represent themselves as a foundation due to the weight of their shapes.
Nevertheless, the interplay of historic and modern bells is extremely attractive. This is also due to the fact that the Schilling bells, especially the large bell of the church's patron St. Martin, are not yet as perfect as one would expect from the later bells of this foundry.

optisch wirklich eine sehr schöne kirche, sowohl außen als auch innen. innen mit den malereien auch sehr prunkvoll. auch die drohnenaufnahmen mit den leichten wolken... richtig klasse 🥰. das historische geläut klingt für das alter wirklich sehr schön und harmonisch. beim kompletten vollgeläut hatte ich beim einläuten zwischenzeitlich etwas skepsis. als dann aber alle glocken eingestiegen sind, war es einfach nur noch "wow". definitiv wieder ein video für meinen "glockenfavoritenordner" 🥰 ich wünsche dir ein frohes und ruhiges weihnachtsfest 🎅🎄🎁🔔

Beeindruckend ist es auf jeden Fall. Sehr eigen, aber das kann schon richtig was 👍 Dankeschön!
Glocke 1 und 2 klingen genauso wie unsere Glocken dee St. Christophorus- Kirche in Breitenbrunn/ Erzgebirge. Wäre echr toll, wenn ihr da mal die glocken aufnehmen könntet. 😊

Die Anordnung der Glocken hier ist schon sehr speziell, dennoch ein sehr schön abgestimmtes Geläute, obschon beim Schalten des Geläutes dies nicht ganz so gepasst hat wie gewollt. ^^ Frohe Weihnachten

Dankeschön! Doch das war tatsächlich so gewollt, dass die Halbtöne erst nach der fis' kommen. Ich finde das sehr angenehm, weil ich diese beiden Halbtöne oben persönlich schon etwas gewöhnungsbedürftig finde.
Ein sehr kurioses, eigenwilliges Geläute. Das Plenum wirkt mehr wie ein Chaos, als eine Einheit. Nichtsdestotrotz hat das Geläute definitiv auch seinen Charme, gerade der historische Bestand ist hier positiv hervorzuheben, trotzem ist auch hier sehr schade, dass das die wertvollen Exemplare (teils) nachgeschliffen wurden. Schöne Präsentation und Frohe Weihnachten!

Ich finde es ein sehr charmantes Chaos. Leider ist die große Glocke nicht ganz so kräftig, sonst könnte die den Laden ein bisschen "zusammenhalten". Eine dieser typischen Ergänzungen aus Karlsruhe, die zwar in der Musiktheorie Sinn machen, irgendwie aber das Ganze etwas überladen. Dankeschön!
Sehr interessantes Mischgeläut aus alt und neu. Klingt toll. Auch ein interessanter Glockenstuhl. Das ist wie in Oelsnitz. Findest du alle Glocken?😅 Frohe Weihnachten.

Dankeschön! Auf jeden Fall. Eine einigermaßen brauchbare Aufnahmeposition zu finden ging hier fast länger als das Geläut an sich😃
