The success and failure of the Argentinian national team hinged entirely upon him, even though there’s 10 other players on the field that have to do their part. Messi knows that-he’s always said and reiterated it. But people for whatever reason have a hard time understanding that Messi is still human and football is still a team sport no matter how good one player is. He knows that better than anyone having almost an entire country turn against him and calling him a traitor (over a damn sport) because the national team couldn’t duplicate the kind of success he had with Barcelona.

The success and failure of the Argentinian national team hinged entirely upon him, even though there’s 10 other players on the field that have to do their part. Messi knows that-he’s always said and reiterated it. But people for whatever reason have a hard time understanding that Messi is still human and football is still a team sport no matter how good one player is. He knows that better than anyone having almost an entire country turn against him and calling him a traitor (over a damn sport) because the national team couldn’t duplicate the kind of success he had with Barcelona.
