Messerschmitt Bf-109E Luftwaffe Fighter Ace Werner Mölders, JG 51 by Corgi AA49203 1:72 Diecast

Werner Mölders was promoted to the command of III.Gruppe on 3rd October 1939. Five months later, he entered World War II history as an official Ace with the downing of a Morane MS.406 fighter. This is marked by the 5th victory bar seen on the tail of the plane. Awarded the Diamonds on 16th July 1941 for being the first fighter pilot to reach 100 aerial victories, he died tragically four months later in a flying accident while en-route to the funeral of Ernst Udet.
This particular model is of the German Messerschmitt Bf-109E as flown by Werner Mölders , during World War 2 by Corgi. This is 1:72nd scale diecast. I think it is a great little model, although marked on the box as from JG.51 the unit insignia of JG.53 "Pik as" is on the nose. So I am not sure whats going on there.

Molders was a war hero. There is something mystic or mythical in him. His death was an irony. Some people have tried to destroy his image as a war hero. It seems that corgi made an effort in making his plane model special. Nice model,👍

Yes he was a true aerial warfare genius. Was a religious man and not a fan of the national socialist's. But typical of the world we live in now, some people had a cry because of his association in the Condor Legion and all his commemorations and honours removed. Its sad when you sacrifice so much for your country only to have your memory and actions tainted by people that weren't even there. Still happens to returning servicemen and women today. Its a shame that those too scared to make sacrifices themselves are all too happy to judge those that fight for their country.

I get what your saying. But .. he still was the enemy. Just like Saboro Sakai. They were on the wrong side . @@heavymetaldiecast

There's one by Atlas which is a cheaper version, but is an all sand Bf-109 F version, i think I did a video on that a few months ago. I can imagine the Corgi one maybe pricey 😀. Happy hunting for it though 😀👍

Where can you buy this from in Australia?

I actually bought this on eBay. That's probably going to be the easiest way to find an older release. Sometimes market place on Facebook has people selling diecast aswell. When on eBay change your setting location sometimes from Australia to another country like the US or UK as that also sometimes brings up different items when doing a search. Just remember when buying overseas the conversion rate and we pay GST as well which can be a price killer. Thank you so much for checking out the channel 😀, great to here from an Aussie 🤣 Happy Hunting 👍

Great little plane . Whenever you show a German plane you start trying to speak German. 😂 you don't do that with the Japanese planes . Lol .

Haha, well both my parents were German so I did here it spoken a lot growing up. And I can speak enough to order beer and a sausage 😂. I learnt Japanese for a couple of years at high school but I was never able to really grasp it!! My Aussie mouth has hard enough time speaking English properly let alone other languages!!
