You are correct - but it is important to note unless you are like Paul (able to be celibate without a problem), then singleness truly is an affliction. You are absolutely right, you should use what opportunities God gives you while single. But it is ok to lament your affliction and pray for God to lift it from you - i.e., provide a spouse. You dont have to pretend to be happy about being single.
