Mesa Mini Rectifier.. FIXED!

Hello. I am sharing what I did and changed that finally fixed the problem I was having with my amp that I showed in my previous video.
For anyone thinking of trying this: PLEASE BE AWARE OF THE FACT THAT THERE ARE HIGH VOLTAGES THAT CAN BE LETHAL IF YOU GET ELECTROCUTED BY THEM. What I did in the video required me diagnosing the circuit while it was live. So make sure to learn proper safety precautions and try it at your own risk.
For those of you interested in the bias mod let me know in the comments. Thank you.

Ironically, I had a similar problem with an orange drop cap with my 2011 unit. Even after sending it to an authorized repair center. If memory serves me, it was the same cap you pointed out as well. In may case it had an intermittent solder joint.

I am having issues losing volume with a rectifier twenty Five, all tubes tested well. Have not been able to find a schematic, have not pulled out the board at this point, but everything from current looking seems okay. I know that it needs further checks, but I thought I would ask for ideas, Thanks!

Hi there, thanks for posting this video. I noticed the 30uf 500v filter cap on yours has been replaced with what looks like an F&T capacitor. Did you replace that or did Mesa? Also there is another electrolytic cap run across the filter cap. Mine doesn’t have that. Did you install that or was that done by Mesa. Do you know the values of that capacitor? Have some issue with noise in 10 watt mode and sometimes the amp flickers on off real fast when playing in 25 watt mode. Any help would be appreciated. Cheers!

I have the same flickering problem as well, and both my 10-watt modes are dead. I found a pdf on the Boogie board (search for "mini Rectifier intermittent problem") that supposedly has the fix, complete with the value of the extra cap. I haven't tried this fix yet though.

Hello, I'm just going to decide myself to buy or not the same amp. Do you think it's well built? Isn't there heating problems because everyting is so closed to each other because the little size? How reliable is it on the long term?

Hi! Once I found the relay with a couple of broken pins in my amp and replaced it it has been pretty reliable. It's still my main amp and I haven't even needed to replace any tubes in it for awhile now. Overall I'd say it's very well built. I think I just got unlucky with the broken relay.

Hi, I have the same noise problem you had, when raised the volume of the gain, how could I check that it is the same relay?, thanks a lot

Hi. I know it's been awhile but just in case you've still got the issue, I found it by pushing on relays / caps with a non conductive object. Like a wooden chopstick.

Maybe you have the electrical scheme ?, thank you
