    Wow! Probably the best bass amp feature video I've ever seen. It's like a video manual with sound! Good variety of styles referenced & each knob & function of the amp is addressed quickly and clearly. Great job, folks! I dig the tuner outlet at the foot controller feature - smart! The no-load protection is cool as well in a tube amp.

    @@bflo1000 i've figured out that power tubes cost roughly 1USD per watt. so per watt, kt-88's cost the same as any other power tube. it's just that they're 50 watts. you'd have to buy two 6l6's in their place. but that's something buyers need to bear in mind; replacing tubes on this amp in a year is going to cost every bit of 250 USD! Its why i wouldn't get a strategy, can't afford to replace tubes in it every year. lol. at least in the US. i assume tubes are more expensive in places like Australia and South America where everything is more expensive. actually some of those South American countries make some killer amps. looking at you Brazil and Panama! (ok, Panama is Central American, but whatever).

    @@slavesforging5361 Thanks for the info. Also, I've changed my mind about the Mesa after comparisons to SVT, Orange ad200B, and Fender SB. The smaller, lighter Mesa just doesn't have the deep, fat low end that the amps w heavy iron have. I just think it's over priced

  • @slavesforging5361

    @@bflo1000 fair enough. it's definitely my dream bass amp. i love the breakup and saturation on it, but at it's price and upkeep expenses it's not for everyone. I'm also using it exclusively for studio work too. so our applications might be different. but bass tone is so important to be not just great sounding, but also the right sound for the right band or song. so i don't have any hard feelings about people picking different bass tones. I"m sure there's good reasons for you to pick something else.

  • @mesaboogie

    @mesaboogie

    9 жыл бұрын

    Hiskrumian - This is very hard to say since it depends on so many different variables. The Prodigy is MUCH louder than what most people tend to expect from 250 watts. That said, you really have to audition the amp for yourself to make sure. Granted, anytime you have a bigger gig where there is a PA & monitors, it's easy to run a little extra bass into the monitors to make up for gigs where the amp doesn't have enough power or you don't have enough cabinet. Hope this helps!

    Decent enough demonstration, besides the fact they never pushed the power amp tubes with the Master control, they never got it past 12:00. That's where the BALLS are man, that's why the two sound clips with the guys playing with pics sounded like real donkey. Got to push those power tubes. I would like to hear some real volume in this controlled sound environment. Freaking Sweet amp though i'm saving my Obama pennies.
