What an intelligent woman. "Who can convey ... the untrammeled snow". Very eloquent. Meryl is so beautiful inside and out. You have to have this level of intelligence to portray and become so many different people that she has played. Every role gets better and better. She is so feminine too. How lucky we are to have had this amazing actor in our era. Love you, Meryl!

I was watching Angels in America once, and realized a rabbi in the story looked familiar. I found out later she was the rabbi.

Much as I love Meryl Streep, I always felt like she'd be best in softer, gentler roles. It seems like she's trying to prove that she's strong all the time, like many gentle people have to do in this harsh world, but then lose some of their natural charm.

So. Sister Aloysius was very rigidly “pro-Church,” until it didn’t meet her needs, and she (said) she went around the “proper channels” when she inquired about him at the prior parish through another nun and not the pastor. Father Flynn maintained that the Church needed to open up and be less rigid reverted to telling her to go through the proper channels (you should have contacted the pastor) and asserting his rung in the hierarchy higher than she (you report to us; you TOOK vows).
