I had no idea on how to use a ring clamp. Thank you 🙏I love ❤️ how you make the videos so clear and slow enough for people to learn.
Great video on how to use a ring clamp to hold your wire as you wrap.
Your classes are precise and not pretentious. I have not wire wrapped but I see this technique being incorporated into my jewelry making. As I watched I thought about how to form this into a ring, perhaps with a bit of soldering. I also think this technique would be fabulous in leather or cording. Thanks so very much for the inspiration!!
Excellent video, thanks very much!
Thanks Lisa!! You do such a great job of teaching!!
This is gorgeous! I have been watching others share their mermaid bracelets in the FB group. Your instructions make it look so easy! Thank you for the tutorial Lisa! ❤️

Glad you are enjoying the vids!
Fantastic - now I want to use the jewellery supplies and tools we bought and never really did anything with, yay! Thanks for easy to follow format - we'll watch more of your tuts.
Thanks Lisa!! I'm not usually a fan of tutorials that are longer than a few minutes, but this one was DEFINATELY worth it! Very informative & thorough with BEAUTIFUL RESULTS!! A little tip I found the hard way though... if you're usuing thicker gage wire, make sure to add to your starting length... LOL!
Very nice! Definitely adding it to my list of “to do.” Thank you - it’s terrific!
Oh my word! This braid looks incredible in wire!! Thank you so much for sharing these instructions. You are an amazing teacher. :)
Really excellent tutorial. Thank you, Lisa.
wow am totally in love with the necklace in the end of the video,,thats a real stunner
I absolutely LOVE the tutorial. Lisa you are FANTASTIC. You are so calm, descriptive and VERY pleasant to listen to!
Thank you so much for these tutorials. I am just starting out and have watched a lot of videos but yours are so clear, helpful and good humoured. So pleased to have found your site and for all the inspiration for such stunning projects. 😊
This is the best tutorial I've seen in the last ten years. The instructions are clear and the quality of the video is good. Thank you! Hanna
Excellent tutorial, thank you so much. Watching your wonderful video has all kinds of possibilities floating around in my head!
Thank you for the simplicity of your tutorial and how you make it easy ❤️🌹
Thanks for the tutorial. The bracelet is super cool and I will be making one today in sterling silver. I have watched the video three times, so here we go....

Done it! The bracelet turned out quite well considering this is my first try with this design. My fingers were quite sore by the time I finish it. You can view it on my pinterest board below. Let me know what you think! www.pinterest.com/pin/317996423663612921/

Brand new at this, love the technique. Some terms I'm not understanding 'dead soft', 'pre oxidizing', guess I'll figure them out as I go. Great tut though, very well executed and fabulously explained. Bravo.

Regarding the terms oxidisation and dead soft....oxidisation is what its called (chemically its actually not oxidation, but that's what its usually called) when sterling (it also works with copper) is treated with (usually) Liver of Sulpher. Its a chemical reaction that puts a dark layer or "patina" onto the metals surface-with silver it can give a whole range of color from yellows to blues to black. Copper just darkens tho. You can then polish to take the patina off the highpoints of the piece. Dead soft refers to the hardness of the metal.....hardest to softest, you have hard, half hard, and dead soft. You can order your metal from the supplier in any of the three states. Sometimes half hard and dead soft are a little more expensive, so if you have a jewelers torch you can turn hard metal to dead soft by "annealing". This is using the torch to bring the metal to a dull red heat, then quenching in cold water. This can be tricky with wire for beginners, cos it has a tendency to melt if overheated!. Usually wire would be annealed in a coil which helps avoid the problem. Its handy to know how to do it tho because metal gets harder and more brittle as its worked(known as "work hardening"), so its useful to be able to return it to the dead soft state.
Nice tutorial! That necklace at the end is amazing!

i LOVE the clasp, never saw one like that,,
fantastic, you explain everything thoroughly and clearly. thanks for uploading this.
I made my first copper bracelet with this weave and I like it but I definately need to get the clamping tool. My weave was very loose without the clamp but it works anyway, thanks for the video!
Love the class. Great video.

I love the braid is beautiful and different, sorry I don't care for patina it makes it look dirty in my opinion and taste the natural color of the wire makes the braid show more its beauty and technique. Thank you so much for sharing your talent.

you make it look so easy! I need to get myself a ring clamp and a couple of caps then I will attempt to make this beautiful braided bracelet!
omg that is gorgeous!!!
That is so gorgeous. I really love that clasp. I'm going to make one for my mama. Thank you!!
Thanks for the tutorial, awesome inspiration.. I made one and love it ...but then I made another one and added a bead to each wrap/loop around.. I found it took a little extra wire length so made a smaller bracket(that fitted my daughter perfectly so no loss ;)) so when I do the next bead one I will add about another 15 cm to the initial wire's length.. Once again thanks for the idea..so much fun to do..am thinking of making another plain one and turning it into a charm bracelet by putting jump rings every few cm to attach the charms to... the possibilities are endless, lol ;)
Love it. Great tutorial.
Gorgeous thank you!
Great video. Love the quality of production.
Thanks! so cool, great tutorial.

thank you, what a great tutorial, mary..
I like your vids very much, Lisa! It would be helpful if you would show the piece more often, in the beginning of the vid, and throughout the build. Tnx!
love this...but would really like to know how to do your ring...it looks like coils????
A fascinating bracelet
Great video! I will be trying this very soon. And the necklace is stunning! Will have to try that also....so many awesome projects!!! Thank for sharing!
Ohhhh! I love this tutorial...thanks so much for sharing your time and skills. Can't wait to practice this. Awesome =)
This is amazing! Just what I was looking for! Subscribed! :D
AMAZING JOB. VERY DIDACTTIC VIDEO. YOU ARE A GOOD TEACHER. THANK YOU. I AM GOING TO DO IT RIGHT NOW.
OMYGRACIOUS! LISA, WHAT A WONDERFULLY DONE TUT! I have seen many videos and this is the best thus far. Everything from execution and design to clarity of what to do and why not to do something. By the way, the correct terminology is nice to hear as the wrong info can really confuse a newbie as someone that enjoys teaching and helping others learn the enjoyable world of jewelry making..I appreciate it. Thanks Again! p.s. where do we pick up the written instructions for this specific project? Would that be the link I just found above?LOL OOPS! NOPE! I was hoping to get written instructions. I so love learning new techniques and ideas this is a 5 star !

Doesn't using the chain nose plier mar the wire a bit? I love this braid. I've been doing it for about 35 years...when I had my long hair. Never thought to do it in wire. Very clever and exotic looking! :) Does it turn the skin dark when worn...and it there a tutorial for the necklace? It is stunning!
Before you add the end caps can you pull thru a draw plate to even things up?
@beaducation
7 жыл бұрын
I don't think that would work very well because this bracelet is flat and the draw plate works better with round things.
Hey Lisa, This is going to sound like a crazy question, but where did you get the thumb rings that you always wear? I absolutely love them and have searched every where I can think of to get some. lease let me know of a website or something. Thank you very much. I love watching your videos!!

Nimex Draconia Hi there! Sorry, I am not sure exactly what you mean by "resistance of this build".
V cool thanks. I wonder how it wears. over time. Do the wires get bent? I bet their easy to fix. Again thank you for your time. >Thomas
Thanks.
Que hermoso
Okay, so I was a little lost on the material. 11 equal sized wires and 1 slightly longer wire, right? Well, how then, do you separate the wires into 2 groups of 6 and still have a "core wire" to wrap around?
@uraniahaynes
7 жыл бұрын
chaosheaven23 thank you, EXACTLY my thoughts. SOMEBODY CANT COUNT. You would need to start with 13 wires, 12 smaller and 1 core.
@beaducation
7 жыл бұрын
Check time stamp 6:55 again. There are 11 equal size and 1 longer = 12 to be divided into 2 groups of 6. This was reference to ONLY the braiding/weaving wires. The core wire is separate and not included in the description and count of how many weaving wires to cut.
Is there a point in using a wedge clamp as opposed to using a table mounted vice? Ive found its much easier on the back to not be scrunching over your lap, and was just wondering if there was an advantage to the wedge clamp.

Hi! This really just comes down to personal preference. The ring clamp would be more portable though. Thanks for the question and have a great day!

Sphinxfalcon Re using a table vice clamp - I did, and it sure made it easy on the fingers but I braided it soooo tight it ended up being a ring, really! I'd cut one inch off the wire instead of 3, as you'd suggested - big mistake. I ended up putting some bead cones on the ends and connected them with a spiral. Looks like a bikers ring now! Ha
Your opening explanation would have made more sense if you had shown a demo piece.
Thanks for being so thorough and showing every detail. Very easy to follow directions. Do you sell these in a kit?
