Hi, so I do mermaiding too! And my friend is very sure she wants to use one of my (many, like I have 6 finfun tails now and 3 monofins) mermaid tails. She is so content on this and she does swim team and all that. I know she also has a good dolphin kick. But I’m scared to put her in even just a monofin. I would hate to make her wait, but Im very content on making her ready, while she thinks she can get strait to it! Im not sure how to make sure she will the safe the first time she uses one, can you give me tips? I am also your biggest fan :)

Make sure you teach her the emergency escape with the monofin just in case if she’s on the swim team, she should be fine

It's also really important to remember never to swim in restrictive clothing or equipment ever without a life guard or a spotter. My biggest fear would be her using a personal or private pool alone. The bottom line is something can always go wrong and get stuck you absolutely always need a spotter. No exception. Happy and safe mermaiding 💕

I had one of these cheap tails as a Christmas gift when I was younger. I was swimming with it in the pool. When the plastic foot holder thingy fell off my feet. I was in the deepest part of the pool. It was dragging me down and I almost drowned.

I found one on Amazon it’s £40 but the reviews are great it was a 4.2 of 5 and there was 1,610 reviews

Amazon tails are dangerous and made from stolen art the reviews are from people who don’t know anything about tails or tail safety.

Actually, they look pretty safe for simply taking some pictures (ex: without actually swimming or with a person, who can swim, constantly paying attention to you right on your side meanwhile somebody takes your picture)! The awful part is the stolen design! Wish artists could make cheaper versions just for those who wanna take these kinds of pictures, instead of actually swimming!

The fin can actually snap so you can need stitches from them even if you’re not swimming. There are some designs on Amazon that are not stolen art and if you just take the fin out, or buy without the fin you can do some pictures.

The ONLY safe brands on amazon are finfun and suntail maybe you got lucky. Just because something didn’t hurt you doesn’t mean that it can’t and stolen art is a major problem.

my friend actually bought a fake and we had a swim together and i was like were did you get that tail she's like wish I was like in my head that is a terrible tail but she could swim in it but it just looked awful

It means a stolen art copy. In the case of mermaid tails an illegal knockoff is made by stealing a photo of someone’s handmade art and printing it on fabric then sewing it into a dangerous and improper tail

Hello!i buyed one from shein(super cheap) and it did not come with a monofin but it was for my kid and she is still learining to to swim so i dc that much and if its going to be needed a monofin i know that fin fun have it!

You have to be a VERY strong swimmer and you have to have a safe monofin or the tail can’t be used in water safely. Shein tails don’t have monofins so they can’t be swam in

No I don’t have the tail of it was Favorite Brother and I got my first tail so it’s one thing fun and the plastic was hard so it couldn’t break so it was safe

Just wish mermaid tails are affordable for asian market... With our bad currency rate.. Even getting a decent tail from reputable tail maker is a pain in our wallets 😢

If it’s finfun or suntail brand it’s fine but those are the ONLY 2 brands on amazon. If you got it from Amazon and it’s not those brands it’s not safe and it’s most likely made from stolen art (knockoff)

in this video there is a literal infographic showing you why it’s not safe right behind me in the thumbnail. If you had done any research at all you would know what you are saying isn’t true. There are pages and pages of information about Tail safety explaining why the amazon and wish ones are not made properly, and therefore are dangerous. It’s not about making money it’s about saving lives. I don’t get paid to teach tail safety. Seriously just click the tail safety button on my website or read my many many blogs about it. And if you don’t believe me there are a ton of others who post about tail safety as well.

You need a proper and safe monofin or the tail isn’t safe. They can shatter and cut you people have needed stiches, people have had permanent injuries from improper monofins. Kids have been hospitalized. Do you really think that flimsy plastic zip tied to cheap swim shoes is just as safe as a real monofin made by a professional swim equipment manufacturer? I get that we live in a world run by greed but there is no hidden agenda here. It’s literally just teaching safety
