This is BY FAR the best comparison vid of the 1 vs 3 I've ever found to date! I asked a while ago about your water lily tail to get up some video of it swimming, and I was delighted to see this video too! More footage of the water lily in action pretty please! I have a very strong feeling that the water lily and fantasy once in will be my first ever official mermaid tail!

I'm a snorkeling person and I use the fantasea kicks I'm buying a Fantasea fin 3 for beach side swimming and workout won I appreciate the video showing the size difference and say it will work out the core. I also register for basic mermaid basic but nothing professional just for fun when I got home.

This video was perfect! I was wondering how these 2 fins compared to each other, thank you so much!

Ah, I remember watching this when I was deciding between the Fantasea three or one! Very helpful video and I love how in depth you went. I ended up going with the three, such an absolute beast to take to my local pool and clean afterwards though. I still remember the one day that there was a kids birthday party going on and someone dropped their goggles on the twelve foot dive well, I ended going doing to grab them since neither kid could get down far enough to retrieve them! Really felt the power of the 3 then, it would have def been harder without the monofin to get down to the bottom. I’m receiving a secondhand fantasea one here soon though, so I’ll have an alternative! Love the beast, but my back some days just cannot handle the three since I screwed it up seven months ago swimming with the fantasea kicks. (Along with time to clean afterwards when I’ve gotta be fast! Manhandling the three in the bathtub isn’t an easy task lol)

In my opinion, this is the best comparison of mertailor fins I have found. Might be my bias of being a swim teacher who worked hard on my strokes but this is amazing.

Watching this, i think i made a good choice in choosing the three, I’m accustomed to swimming with a competitor fin or having to use my core more, so it seems like it’ll work more with how I swim than the one would.

Thank you for such a wonderful video! You are incredibly in depth, especially with the technical side of swimming in each fin. I have a Fantasea 1, and I’ve been wondering how it compares to a Fantasea 3. Which one would you recommend for lake swimming? I’m on the fence about whether or not I should invest in another Whimsy skin or get a Fantasea 3.

Aw thank YOU I'm so glad you found it helpful! In terms of lake swimming, it depends on your personal swimming level, what you want to accomplish with your swimming, and the conditions of the lake in question. Some lakes are so warm and calm they're prone to algae blooms, while some are so turbulent and cold they can cause (and preserve!) shipwrecks! I'm not qualified to determine your swimming level but I can tell you what I prefer; if your lake is especially turbulent (comparable to the ocean) I would recommend a stiffer bladed monofin like a freediving monofin unless you have a TON of mermaiding experience. The main lake I have access to is very calm (although FREEZING cold) and I prefer to use the F3 in it. Between the F1 and F3, I find the F3 more satisfying to use in open water as the F1 tends to give me the feeling that I'm not cutting through the current enough, but you need to keep your own experience level in mind, and remember that the F3 much heavier and more unwieldy than a smaller monofin.

Pretty well for both of them! I was actually concerned about the F3 falling off due to weight and tried kicking as hard as I could to see if it would fall off, to no avail. I'm a size 9 US women's and got a large F1 and medium F3; I wear both barefoot and have never had slipping issues personally.

What size did you get and what shoe size are you?

I'm US women's 9 or 9.5 and I went with a medium F3 and large F1. I bought the F1 first and didn't want the foot pockets to be too small, but the monofin is so comfortable that I went with a medium F3 and am glad I did. With regular monofins I recommend sizing up but if you're between sizes and getting a Mertailor monofin you can size down.

Do you have a tailskin for either one or both? If yes, which ones??

Oh how very much I wish I could afford the Fantasea 2 😞 Me seeing this really deep pool that allows mermaid tails aka the exact opposite of the 5ft mermaid banning pools of where I live: 👁👄👁 I just bought a fantasea one and I feel like it may feel and loom larger for me like a fin 2 or maybe even 3 because I am quite smol
